Today’s Football 25/26 Season

Unsure where to put this, so...

9pm BBC2 tomorrow. New Storyville documentary;

Football's Financial Shame: The Story of the V11
Unveiling a hidden scandal from inside the Premier League. Delving into the personal consequences of this financial devastation.

Who are The V11?

  • A group of former Premier League players who were exploited by their financial advisors.
  • The group includes players who have been Premier League champions, Champions League winners, and England internationals, playing for famous clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal.
  • Examples of players involved are Danny Murphy and Brian Deane.
What is the Scandal?
  • The players were advised to enter into investments that resulted in financial losses.

  • They are now facing significant tax liabilities on those advised investments, a situation that has caused considerable personal struggle.

  • The situation highlights a "dark side to the game" and a systemic culture of financial grooming and abuse at the highest levels of professional football, according to the Fremantle website.
How was it Revealed?

  • The scandal was exposed in the 2025 BBC documentary "Football's Financial Shame: The Story of the V11" and is featured in the Fremantle documentary "The V-11".
  • These documentaries provide personal testimonies and investigative evidence, detailing the players' search for justice and the extensive financial abuse they suffered.
Is it the same scheme Dunc mentioned in his book?

Grimsby fined £20,000 for beating Man Utd because they registered a loanee from Bradford 1 minute and 59 seconds past the deadline...

Man Utd have declined to comment.

Had to stop working on Man City`s 115 charges for a week so they could stamp down hard on those cheaters from the lower league, teach them a lesson about not following the rules.

I don't know mate, I haven't read Dunc's book. Danny Murphy is on the documentary as one of those with losses if that gives any clues?
On in a few minutes, will give it a go, they've hinted on bbc all day that they've been duped into signing loads of money over (and suggestions of false signatures) and now the show is over, the tax man needs his end, so the managers that've stuffed them all have stitched them up.

Now these are wealthy people, and they know who these managers are, it's not unheard of in the big bad world for people to get their own back is it, regardless of lawlessness...
