Sausage or bacon? It's tricky I must admit. I probably eat way more bacon, if that's any decider, largely because sausages are a much greater time investment and so I make them less frequently.

Not having that sausages are more versatile tho. You can stick bacon or lardons in anything you like - and it always makes it tastier.

edit: voted sausage in the end, bc sausage, mash & onion gravy - food of the gods

Bacon when it's cooked proper crispy is significantly better.

Put that between white bread with plenty of butter with a runny yolk fried egg and brown sauce you have the perfect start to a weekend morning

Bacon is a fan favourite and with good reason, but sausage is more versatile and also more substantial. Saw this thread a few hours ago and legitimately had to go away and have a think.

Now I’ve definitively answered, we can go ahead and close the thread.

If both are cooked perfectly, it's bacon.

If I'm ordering one or the other, and I don't trust the chef, I'm going sausage as it's pretty hard to ruin a sausage (unless you're Chico's ma)

Oh a caveat, if the bacon and sausage are part of US breakfast foods, then neither. Bacon is mostly rind and their breakfast sausage are tiny and dry.
