Isn’t Patterson currently injured, along with Branthwaite?

So if say Tarks gets a knock (or already is playing with one that gets worse) we’ll need to move O’Brien to CB and then it is either Coleman playing (also just back from injury) or moving Garner out of a role he is doing well at to RB.

Hopefully all works out but we really have to hope that the players that have recovered are fully healed, we don’t get any more injuries and nobody picks up a silly red card.

The international break will cross fingers help in recovery of those recently healed/those on sick list.
Yeah this is where I am on our defense. It's at best ok with Keane in it

And it's an injury away from being VERY stretched.

The silver linings are of course Jack and our forward effort, which as Leeds shows, is vital. Need to keep the ball off the back 4, avoid long spells without the ball. reality is we haven't played anyone that good yet.

Stay fit men! 💪

It’s an 8 for me, but that’s in the context we were never gonna fill all squad issues in one summer with such change behind the scenes, again with that context it would’ve been a 10 with a genuine decent striker added. That will cost us this season, or until January.

But to of spent 100+ million more than we’ve received is a very impressive statement of intent from owners.

Going into this off season, we needed a major clean out to build a competitive team.

In one window we have signed 9 players, not only rebuilding the squad but also dramatically changing the style of players and the age profile. We now have a much more technical team, with many young players developing and genuine options on the bench.

As many have stated, we need a genuine RB, and I would like a ball-winning CDM and a winger/striker who is a pace merchant. Some positions also need further depth.

A huge step in the right direction, a strong basis to build something positive in the future and the most exciting time to be an Evertonian in years.

Its an 8/10 for me. If we couldnt get the exact right back Moyes wanted then hold off, because JOB is doing ok and Garner has done ok when he had to, so were not too desperate and we have hopefully moved on from desperate splurges. ALL of the signings look decent to very decent. Pleasantly surprised for a change. I think it feels a bit meh because we did the business early - it may have felt different if we announced Grealish, KDH and Dibling in at 6pm last night. But, gladly we did business early and the new signings ensured we put a fair few points on the board in August!!!

Who would have thought we’d see a midfield with Grealish, KDH, Dibling added to Ndiaye and this Merlin lad looks the real deal. Compare that to Harrison, McNeil, Doucs, Lindstrom etc. Alcaraz is a good addition too and time will tell with Barry and Aznou and the others, but thats a very good window by our standards - or rather, lack of them as we’ve unfortunately been used to for far too long. I think were on the up and up!

Such a shame theres an international break!

8.

Players have improved us already, and the bench looks stronger.

The only drawback is the lack of a RB, again. I still don't get why it's so hard to fill.

Right side is still looking fragile but the players we have brought appear top quality. The number of creative and direct attackers really signals the beginning of an exciting style and identity again. Also nice balance in ages, some young and some experienced

7 for me. As everyone has said no new right back and am not convinced Barry is a starter yet up front. That said signing Grealish and KDH and shifting some of the deadwood is no mean feat and should mean a solid season of improvement.

I gave it a 7, as I would have liked some cover at RB. However, anybody thinking we could have covered every need in one window was always on for a disappointment. For this season, I will happily settle for no skirting around the relegation zone and entertaining football. In January and next summers window, we plug the remaining gaps and hopefully add another couple of class players.

7 - no right back and no experienced third striker. Also I feel we’re missing a 6.

But we’re sorted in the three attacking midfield (could even have shifted McNeil on imo), though I’d have loved a speedster right winger too.

We’ve got a great blend of youth and quality experience. Probably the right squad size, just needed a couple of tweaks to it to be perfect IMO.

But I mean did we NEED a rb? we’re the 4th best defence in the league for H2 of last season, so defensively no, but you see JOBs limitations in that role when he needs to bomb on or get a cross in.

Think we’re going to be in the European conversation this year, really do.

I feel like Rohl if he comes gives Moysie the chance to play Garner at right back. Might not be the flying wing back we hoped for but between him and JOB we will survive, Jimbob is playing great right now and it feels like he could play anywhere. Left back cover, solid midfield, cF with potential and GREALISH. We feel balanced and barring injuries could be devastating going forward. Also options off the bench.

Given the challenges they faced rebuilding it’s got to be a 7/8.
That is indeed the plan- Garner is right back cover if needed.

Third striker is already here- Ndiaye with Dibling being his direct replacement on the wing.
