Because the last thing you want your fullback doing when they get the ball in parallel to the penalty area is cutting inside
Of course and fair comment. And where you can you get players in their best positions. But sometimes there are some players on a squad that can be versatile like Garner. That gives me some comfort for that position until we finally fill RB with a specialist. What we don’t want are more McNeils that lose pace and opportunities by switching to the left instead of hitting a sitter with the right. If Myko is clearly strongest on left then keep him there. Like Grealish. But our midfielders move all around the pitch. I’m just saying footballers should be able to step into multiple roles.

8/10 for me. Wasn't as excited as I should have been for Grealish, but he's another level. KDH looks like a really shrewd signing and Dibling is a rare transfer saga the club got right. Barry looks like he'll need time but could be a fun striker, Alcarez is a great impact sub, and Aznou theoretically exists.

Hasn't felt as important because of the injury but signing Branthwaite up to a new contract is as big a win as Grealish. Proper statement of intent and could be a really strong foundation between him, Pickford and O'Brien over the next few years (or £80m next summer and a chance to get an actual RB)

As with all transfer windows, we will find out how good it is on the pitch.

Definitely improved the squad. But maybe just Grealish & KDH get in a first choice XI? Time will tell

This is Everton so I won't presume any of the transfers will work out well. Looks good so far tho

No starting actual RB is crap IMHO. I understand any arguments for why others don't think it's as big a deal, but I disagree

We have a base to move on with now. As much as I don’t really like the manager, it will be good enough to be around 10th I think with small factors dictating whether it is a bit worse or actually ends up with us close to the lower European spots. It’s a hell of a change from a year ago to be able to even consider that possibility.

8. Some fantastic signings that at this time last year were well out of our reach. Grealish, KDH. Just wow, good times are coming boys. There will be ups & downs throughout the season but at last we’ve got players, a team and a squad (and stadium) to be excited by. We know a RB would’ve been the icing on the cake but we’ll get by until January as we always do.
I’m sure the return of JB and more match sharpness will erase the defensive lapses and we can enjoy the fruits of our attacking bounty!! UTFT 💙

Why don’t you like the manager
