Why is it that we can’t swap our fullbacks around? I get it that some have a preference for which foot they favour. But these are pros and should be able to play on the right and left side.

When Branthwaite comes back, why can’t Aznou (when up to match fitness) play either side? We’re stronger when players aren’t one dimensional specialists. We should be able to move Myko right and left. Same with Tarkowski.

It would’ve been great to get a RB in. Well we didn’t. And I’m glad we didn’t spend everything on one when we spent wisely and got so much.

Until we’re consistently higher up the table, use what you’ve got. Move the pieces around. Those defenders should be able to play anywhere back there. Garner’s doing everything asked of him and is highly successful. He’s been on both sides of the midfield, RB, anything we’ve needed.

What on Earth have I just read

A lot are mentioning about only having 2 strikers but realistically how often does that third striker actually play? Chermiti hardly ever got on the pitch for us tbh. I imagine if one of Beto/Barry is injured then Ndiaye will fill in up front when necessary

DCL/Beto/Danjuma were the three options for 23/24. They all played good minutes.

Issue is if Beto does his hamstring like Delap and out for minimum six weeks so left then with Barry and nothing on the bench to bring on after an hour. Yes Ndiaye seems the most likely to be tried up there in false 9 role or maybe even Alcaraz as loved the way he ran into the box to score at Newcastle last season.

Would obviously have to play much different to just hitting balls into the channels for Beto to run after but team is technically ready for it and evolving so excited to see it develop.

Not Bad.
5/10

-2 failure to get players in for pre-season.

-2 No quality right back.

-1 failure to utilise the loan market to have adequate squad depth (ST)

Happy with who has been added,
a step up in quality, money spent wisely.

Some leeway for adjusting from a previous owners regime.

A bridge too far from excellence, lessons have not been learnt and that old familiar feeling to a "difficult" window.

Something to build on sensibly.

I went for a 7.

We filled in some much needed areas, but we are still short of numbers defensively and I don’t like the fact that we only have 2 strikers.

It reminds me of a time when we let Marcus Bent go to Charlton on deadline day because we had Beattie and Johnson, then they both got injured and Moyes ended up playing Tim Cahill as a lone striker. Bad times.

5! jesus.

Very good window for me.

Yes we should have brought another ( different from what we have ) in.
Yes we should have brought a solid RB in.
But it's been said before our squad won't be fixed over 1 window.

Big pluses obviously are the signings , really good mix of established quality and young progressive potential.
Coupled with our outgoings and keeping all our best players this window is a huge success.
First time in years I feel we shouldn't be looking over our shoulders at the wrong end of the table , top half or higher should be very achievable this season.

Solid 8 / 10 for me.

Because the last thing you want your fullback doing when they get the ball parallel to their own penalty area is cutting inside
