2025/26 Youssef Chermiti

It's weird how vicious some posters in this thread are. As far as I'm aware the lad has never done anything wrong in training or on social media regarding the club. A transfer of a young lad didn't work out, it happens all the time, and we're seemingly getting a decent fee for him, why all the vitriol?
What vitriol? I've just gonna back 5-6 pages and I don't see anything out of order.

I'm just seeing people calling him crap because he has had zero impact here, which is entirely fair isn't it?

Pre season last season he looked like he might have something about him. I was excited to see him as an option going into that season, but the injury really has stifled his progression. Maybe there's a player in there somewhere, he is still only 21 after all. Just got very unlucky here unfortunately..

…..I think we have opinions on players, regardless of the fact they are young or old. If it goes against the general consensus then you’re accused of having an agenda or the ‘ageist’ point is made.

I just haven’t seen any promise in Chermiti, it’s not an age thing it’s just an opinion. I saw DCL for U21 soon after his summer arrival and predicted he’d be in the first team by December, again not age related just opinion based on what I saw.

Posters jump on the ‘age’ bandwagon when it’s purely opinion on players capability. Surely that’s what a forum is for.
I certainly don't want to put words in @Osamabindiesel mouth, but, for me, there's a difference between stating that you don't think a young player is very good and saying "good riddance" and suggesting they need chasing out of the club. The latter is weird and disproportionate behavior.

….from what I’ve seen, getting circa £8m is a terrific return. It’ll be fascinating to see how he gets on at Rangers.

Really, @Eggs ? You're "unsure" that that's poor behavior. Would you like me to quote the posts where people have railed against the young man?

It's more of just wishing him well and hoping he improves. There is too much vitriol towards younger players here and it needs to stop. There is fair criticism sure. But even the likes of Garner who has been very solid for us the past several years gets so much unwarranted criticism for simply not pushing on.

….that won’t change, it’s human nature. Some people are just like that, I wouldn’t say it’s unique to Evertonians. Lots of abuse for the likes of Young too.

And how many posts like that are there?

I've just searched the thread and there's absolutely nothing saying good riddance.

Seems like a massive overreaction on your part.

Massive overreaction? Alright mate, I literally just said we should be nice to our players. It's a pretty controversial opinion, I guess.
