Seems an expensive way to let Armstrong go on loan tbh but whatever.
I think we are trying to get ahead of the curve for next summer. It's very likely that both Gana and Tim leave so if we can get Armstrong fully ready and up to speed the club probably sees that as a good thing.

If he’s a ball hogging greedy get someone in the crowd needs to shout

“YOU SHALL NOT PASS”

(A bit tenuous but it’s been on my mind for a few days)

you don't need to watch him to know where he plays

transfermarkt tells you everything

he's played 48 times in the german league

13 games as an attacking midfielder, 13 games as a central midfielder, 12 games as a second striker, 4 games as a right winger, 3 games as a left winger and 1 game as a right midfielder

it seems like he doesn't even know where he wants to play

Its not down to him where he plays, thats for the manager.

I've been at all 4 mate.

At Leeds and Wolves we've played 4231, we've shifted to 433 during the games against both Brighton and Mansfield. KDH went as the left sided number 8 in the 2nd half against Brighton, Iroegbunam as the right sided number 8 and Gueye sitting. Against Mansfield, when we shifted to this it was Garner as the 6.
Oh I've no doubt that we've shifted within games to a 4-3-3 at times. And I've no doubt that at times (particularly on the ball) we'll leave one of the two centre midfielders back.

But my original point stands: we don't play a traditional holding 6 in a 4-3-3. The flexibility we have to shift within hames is borne from having that double pivot of well rounded CMs who can both advance and sit.

Which is the point I'm making, why would we seek out a CDM destroyer when we don't use one?
