that tacky one winds me up. They never show the picture of when Tarry actually kicks the ball. Macallister is nowhere near the ball, its Mcallister challenging late that caused that.
Come off it. That Tawks challenge was awful and deserved a red. I would be livid if someone did that to one of our players.

I don’t really understand the PGMOL’s statement at all. It wasn’t the VAR that ultimately “disallowed” the goal, it was the on-field ref. The VAR told the ref to review the incident, which he did. VAR was wrong for even asking him to yes, but ultimately the ref had the option to say “don’t be daft, that’s a perfectly fine goal”, but he didn’t. Why is it just VAR that’s being mentioned for making a mistake? It’s on the ref’s shoulders for me.

Totally agree, ref was too weak to tell VAR to k'off. So few refs seem to be brave enough.

Agree

VAR was probably over-zealous in asking the ref to review it, but it’s still the ref’s decision.

I think it was Illy yesterday, tangled with their left winger in our box and the ref waved it away before var could have even blinked.

Reckon ref was warned pre game no borderline shouts today as it'd be 3 on the bounce vs Everton?

Honestly I wouldn't put it past them. And if it wasn't mentioned, subconsciously they were probably all thinking it.

VAR was brought in to help cut down on referee`s mistakes but every week there seems to be at least one game where there`s an apology for the mistake the VAR made that influenced the game in the favor of one team.
And nothing is done about it.

The decision is made, the bias is evident, the team wins in the main because of that decision.

Two days' time they apologise; it was a mistake.

Next week, same thing.

Fine for offsides and dangerous play. But anything else is open to opinion and it’s just one useless officials opinion on top of another. Overall get rid.
PL officials just need to let go of clinging to the power

They aren't that important(the best officials are barely noticed) but just can't stop inserting themselves and ruining games

There definitely is a way to use VAR correctly but they just can't get it right so it would be better if it was scrapped which it won't be. Too many extra pay days for the too many cooks spoiling the broth

they could do with suspending VAR to interact with a game but they still carry on in the background and in real time, and refine what they do out of the spotlight of affecting games, then, when they have got a functioning system, bring it back

VAR should work, but it is currently far from working in anything like a satisfactory way

I thought the referee was in charge of officiating the game. So if I understand this statement, the referee decides what decisions are made, unless the VAR wants to get involved and add a twist to the game. Should the VAR at most be advising the ref to take a look at a decision on the screen and not deciding that the ref has made a mistake and over rule his decision.
