In danger of getting carried away?

There's a lot to be pleased about at the moment. The stadium, the new signings making a difference, some very nice football being played, and wins, glorious wins.

It's something I feel many of us has craved for some time - to feel good about Everton and thst we're on the up. Its lovely, genuinely great to have a feel good vibe.

But, and there's always a but, are we in danger of collectively getting carried away? We've been starved of the above for so long it's only right to indulge, but should we temper the enthusiasm slightly? Its still early days this season and there'll be bumps in the road.

We need to keep the positivity, but fall into the trap of setting ourselves up for a fall, with heads falling off over a setback imho.

Or am I just being a killjoy miserable so and so?

We never learn mate after so many false dawns. But we can dream, new owners, boss stadium and some boss players. Let’s hope this season is the one.

Yes, the Brighton game could have easily gone a different way as the defending was absolutely atrocious.

In my view we’ve had 4 good halves of football out of 6 so far with the first halves of Leeds and Brighton being really poor in my opinion.

That said I’m pleased we seem to be much luckier than I can remember for a long time with teams missing sitters against us, not scoring pens, and not scoring last minute sickeners which seem to always have happened in recent years.

So I’ll take a better stroke of luck and hope that the momentum can keep going and our form keeps improving with it
Difference now being, when he have a good half we are likely to bag a goal or two. Huge insurance policy for when we aren’t at the races. We will turn a load of draws from last season into wins this season on the back of it

I think it's just nice to feel like we're looking up instead of down for the first time in years. The aim at the start of the season for me was top half, that would represent clear progress, and that remains the realistic aim for me.

If we can get another 1 or 2 in, and we play near the top of our potential we could trouble the lower European places. If we get ravaged with injuries, then probably looking at somewhere around 12th.

Very pleased with the return so far but its a small sample size and not exactly the worst fixtures. But to have 6pts in August has been unheard of for many years.

There will be bumps in the road but we feel upwardly mobile for the first time in ages and that is a nice feeling.

I think we are in danger of not being carried away ENOUGH.

Think about it, offensively we look very dangerous and Dibling + Future Signing hasnt even played yet. Defensively the only goals we have given up were two absolute lazy blunders that can be easily fixed by telling them "go get the ball", and a dubious penalty. Plus, we have started without our best defenders. Future matches will have Branthwaite back, Myko back to full strength, and a new RB(right?).

Only a question of how many points we win the league by. Actually Ill be pretty happy with 8th.

We rode our luck occasionally yesterday, Lopez screwing his shot wide in injury time, Beto's 'stepover', Keane 'leaving it' for Beto. But Wolves were crap. Hwang hadnot scored in 2025... its September tomorrow. Keane and Mykolenko ballwayching at the end, the scorer was a good 10-12 yards behind Mykolenko when the cross was made.
Keep some balance, weve played Leeds, Brighton and Wolves. Two of those 3 could easily be relegation battlers.

At present I am feeling cautiously optimistic and quite happy following yesterday's victory. My only source of disappointment is that the international break is now upon us, meaning that we do not play next weekend. If we can carry on picking up points, little by little, this could turn out to be a fantastic season for us and we could be in the conversation for the European places.

After the past few seasons, however, I am wary of how quickly things can turn pear-shaped and I can see this season being much closer than previous years (hence why I am cautiously optimistic).

Its good to have gained a few points on teams that we would have been looking to be around in the table. A lot of work to do to get our defense looking more solid. Some good news on Branners and bringing in a proper RB would be great over the next week and then bring on Villa.
