2025/26 Jack Grealish

He went to ground easily enough about 5-6 times yesterday. And so he should too. It's part of the game now and it breaks up play to or advantage.

When the manager wont make substitutions to do that then it's up to seasoned pros like Grealish who are good enough to persaude refs to blow their whistle to step up and break up opposition momentum.

Hopefully more of our players start doing it - something we've been woefully lacking in for years.

That was after we were in front and trying to contain the game and see it out. Nothing wrong with that. But Grealish at City would be doing that from the get go. Which is why he wasn't half the player he was capable of being. On substitutions, that could be Moyes downfall if he's not careful.

Ndiaye needs to do this, he’s gonna get seriously injured being to honest trying to stay on his feet getting lumps kicked off him.

Wasn’t entirely sure which Grealish would rock up at Everton, so wasn’t completely convinced about him. But everything he’s said and done so far has been absolutely top class, a truly wonderful footballer. Seems to be loving it too.
Seems a match made in heaven we needed him as much as he needs us ,if you would have said to me last season grealish would be playing for us I thought you were mad

I was the same. No shame in having some concerns given the wages and recent seasons he's had.

Going better than I hoped for so far though. Let's hope it keeps going all season.

Aston Villa fan.

Jack was outstanding at villa mainly due to his amazing ability but because he was loved by a set of supporters that were passionate and partizan, just like Everton are, a great club who will love him for what he is, let him be the main man, let him play how he wants and show him the love he needs and hell have you in awe everyweek of how he is.

Hes hands down the best player ive ever seen at Villa, and there has been some good ones, i can gurantee as time goes on youll be majorly suprised how good he actually is.

Im happy hes at a great club with great fans like Everton now, cant wait too see his journey with you.

Legend.

The big thing that Grealish brings besides the obvious quality is quite simple.

In a side if your best player by a way is also the one who works his socks (low ones) off for the full 90, it's sets the benchmark that every player in the side has to put in the same effort. When that player is also one of the most likeable guys in footy - you'll want to bust your backside putting that effort in as well.

Hate to say it, but the lot across the park have had that in the past with Suarez, now Salah. It raises the standard of the entire squad and is infectious.
Suarez was skilful, hard-working and charismatic, but he was famously one of the most obnoxious scumbags in the game. He spat at oppo players, racially abused them and bit them! All defended to the hilt by the Kopites of course.

For the record, I don't find Salah particularly likeable either.
