I'm beginning to see how he draws so many fouls as well.I don't think he can be boiled down to stats
Pure stature does so much, ball retention, drawing players towards him, sees the game immaculately
He's had faith in Moyes all along though, never doubted him...
And to think he hasn’t even had a proper pre season make it the more remarkable in my opinionI'm beginning to see how he draws so many fouls as well.
Not only is he drawing players towards him as you say, but he is so good at keeping the ball at his feet, that other players sometimes seem to lash out at him in frustration.
There's also his ability to turn on a sixpence, opposition players often put a leg out to try and get at the ball and end up taking him down instead.
Incredibly frustrating to watch when he's playing against you, but great when he's on your team.
He took the sting out of Wolves late pressure on a few occasions by just keeping the ball at his feet, changing direction and drawing the foul.
So true, the first season under Martinez was the last time we were a joy to watch in my opinion. It's actually a pleasure to watch Everton games atm.
Doesn't feel like a chore you've gotta endure through loyalty like it has for so many seasons.
Genuinely cannot remember being this positive about the footy in a long time.
Give me more of this Everton please oh wondrous Gods of the footy
I love it when he brings the ball down and kills it stone dead.I'm beginning to see how he draws so many fouls as well.

They took liberties there. He was good enough to go to them and hand him his shirt and then they grab at him and make him feel uncomfortable.
Obvioulsy biffs too wth their home made St George's cardboard flag.
Did you watch him for the rest of the game? You obviously missed Mykolenko pass for the first goal
