Today’s Football 25/26 Season

I look forward to Marcos press conference. The last two weeks, Fulham have been done as bad as anyone I can remember with VAR decisions. Hope he just lets loose.

All that would happen is Carragher and Neville would be on it straight away saying how he’s ’lost his head’ and ‘we have the best referees in the world’ and ‘you’d be disappointed if that one was given against you but it’s one of those’

Anything to keep their paymaster’s corrupt cesspit on the gravy train

Probably have a good old boys laugh at it like they did after the Tarkowski penalty fiasco the other week. A pair of overpaid, overrated, biase cretins.

I honestly thought the football of the mid 2000s would be as bad as it got when John Terry was just making goalkeeper saves with his hands, United were having goals not given against them that were 2 yards over the line, and Gerrard got penalties that pundits said were legal because even though there was no contact the ‘intent’ to foul was there?

I thought goal line tech and VAR would improve things but I’d take the mid 2000s version of corruption over this systemic relentless corruption that we’ve got now. Every game is controlled by the referees and then their media arm immediately blast with propaganda to support whatever the decision is. Anyone who says anything to different to the sky line is just immediately silenced by Carragher shrieking over them. The same pundits, all the time, all saying the same thing, making sure they’re on both co commentary and in the studio. A whole group of grown men ex players swearing that blue is actually red because sky has told them to.

It’s honestly so dispiriting.

Imagine an ex Barcelona player ensuring he got himself on co commentary for every single Real Madrid game? Or an ex Rangers player doing it for Celtic?. Wouldn’t happen, they wouldn’t want to but lo and behold every game we have televised there’s spitty the bellend dog telling us all down the camera how crap we are and what to think about another game we’ve been robbed.

Where a dive is "smart play" where "slight contact" even if it's instigated by the striker is irrefutable proof , I honestly think if you play for a sly six team you are practically guaranteed favourable decisions. I remember saying at the time var was introduced that it would give the top tier of teams another safety net, or words to that effect. You like all of us can see the absolute uproar if there is a bad decision towards a sly six team, especially if they are playing one of the less fashionable teams, it's kept as news by sky/ tnt for ages and the officials lives are made a misery. Since var every decision is scrutinised, slow mo, zoomed in referees even decent ones are terrified to make a decision, especially against a top team. Var needs scrapping, give us our game back.
