You’re wrong. He’s basically their only actual threat. If he’s out, it’s a big win for us.

I thought he was rubbish but he scored a decent amount last season and scored twice against West ham as a sub midweek. Always looked useless against us which is rare
Im not watching a ton of Wolves but anytime I have he looks badly average. I’m going to just mark last season down as a fluke goals wise. He also started 30 games so 14 goals is a fine return. Wild to me that Newcastle are this into him.

It's wild to me that people sniff at 14 goals in 30 games for a side that was bottom 3 at the half way point. It's really hard to score goals in bad teams.

Yep this seems to be our best bet currently and with Dibling, Alcaraz, Beto, Tim Iroegbunam & Coleman on the bench and Branthwaite & Aznou due to return from injury following the international break then you gotta say we're looking as strong as we have been for years.

That's also not even counting Harrison Armstrong either, whom I suspect will be getting another loan.
I think there will be a lot of heavy rotation with the five subs until players are super match fit at about 6 to 8 games into the season and what works best for the team materialises.

Its like with Beto, scores double digits and yet people rush to slate them. Saying they dont LOOK good.

Im sorry but teams issues aren't when players produce, its when they are only getting 4-5 goals out of their striker. There are so many other things to worry about at that point.

Fingers crossed that this is indeed the case. Having several different options for the first XI that won't just be enforced through injury will be a big step forward for us.

Wolves were a good attacking side though, just couldn’t defend. I know that seems contradictory with the main striker lol, but I just don’t see it with how he plays.

Talk coming out that Larsen won't play which is a massive blow for us. Not surprised some don't rate him, as he isn't great to be honest, but only proper striker we have right now. Never worth £60m normally, but he is to us right now as a sale will almost certainly relegate us.

Expect this XI:

Sa
Doherty, Agbadou, Toti
Thatchoua, Andre, J. Gomes, H. Bueno
Munetsi, Arias
Hwang

Larsen for Hwang if he is available and it's a massive difference. Hwang is useless. He was cheered off in the week and is totally finished here. The manager doesn't rate him but we have no other options. (Meant to be signing a big Genk striker)

Agbadou was immense last season but has been poor in the opening weeks. There's a chance Krejci starts ahead of Doherty and Agbadou moves to the right, but seems unlikely given he has been here a few days.

Our midfield two are quality but they can't do it on their own.

The RWB Thatchoua has had a positive start and is rapid (voted fastest player in Serie A last season), so he will be a threat.

Arias was/is the Cunha replacement but only shown bits of quality. We look very workmanlike, a bit like you over the years. We are lacking the Ndiaye/Grealish that can make a difference in the final third.

We're a big, physical side now, so should be difficult to play against, but lacking quality and the defence isn't the same after Agbadou's form has dipped.

We've been toothless in the two PL games. We did play well against West Ham in the cup, and they were near full-strength, but it's West Ham. We also got a lot of joy being direct and crossing balls in. I would argue you may be the best team in the league to deal with that, especially with O'Brien at full-back.

I expect a good atmosphere at first, and Grealish sure to get some stick. But a lot of frustration/anger bubbling away and it will turn quickly if you score first or start to dominate - maybe even from kick-off if Larsen isn't involved.

Apologies for the long post, just giving a lowdown of our situation, can't wait to visit your new stadium later in the season - and shame about the cup draw eh.

I expect an away win.

If we have ambitions of finishing top half, then we should be looking for three points here.
Would make for a really encouraging start, after the Leeds disappointment.

Not sure though, we need to be tighter defensively and offer more of a threat up front.

Points to a draw for me.
We've let in 1 in 3 games.

Expect Beto to start after scoring on Wednesday, Dibling might be a sub again while he’s still getting used to the club, Myko and Seamus maybe both starting unless he puts Big Jake back in at RB

And if you take away Strand Larson's goals, they would not have been. Him and Cunha carried that attack.
Cunha is a baller. I’d probably put him on the top and then several steps down to Larson.

For me it’s just not a player that makes a difference for a side trying to win things and the like. I’d not want him here. Barry far higher upside.

Here's Chris Sutton's take...

Different takes here then Ig. I think he's be exactly the type of striker we need up front given those we'd have supporting him.
