2025/26 Michael Keane

He’s been brilliant but all his mistakes lead to goals?

I think he’s bang average but is doing ok at the minute, he needs to be replaced as soon as Branthwaite is back fit. If he plays for much longer he will make some of those mistakes you mention, which will no doubt cost us points.

Can’t fault his attitude, he’s just a very limited footballer.
What about Tarkowski's mistakes this season?

Very lucky that they haven't led to goals

And it only being one was also due to some woeful finishing, woodwork, a penalty save and some other excellent goalkeeping.

I wouldn't use that stat as evidence that all is OK at the back. We've got away with quite a bit.

Don't think any of those have been his fault though. It's been Tarkowski that's made mistakes and unfortunately having Garner at LB who despite putting a good shift in, is going to get caught at times due to not being a natural left footer or LB.

Maybe we should have kept him on a one year rolling contract all these years and he would have spent all his time playing up to earn the next one rather than getting his deckchair out and serving us utter rubbish for 8 years except the two periods where he needed a new deal.

Why not play Coleman RB, O'Brien in with Tarks to allow Michael Keane to play up front against Wolves?

….being an effective striker is more than being a decent finisher. Can’t imagine Keane running the channels, being particularly good at hold-up or link play and he’s not the most combative. He’s also immobile and slow.

I don't think Keane has put a foot wrong since Moyes came in. He can look awful when the team is chaotic but is a really solid, reliable player when we are well organised and he is not caught too high up the pitch. Re-signing him has been sensible and good value.
