I explored a bit at half time yesterday and apparently there are two banks of three lifts each in East stand but in reality 4 lifts out of 6 only go to tier 2 and only two lifts in total go to tier 3. In addition at present the club are using all three lifts in each bank for tier two so trying to get a lift for tier three is especially difficult as there’s only one lift and it’s shared with tier 2. Club view is probably also the biggest section of East upper. The club are apparently considering restricting the 3 storey lift to club view only to improve flow although the other two lifts also service North and South stand respectively. There probably is enough lift capacity for wheelchair users and more severely disabled but what there isn’t provision for is those that can walk but just not necessarily up 5 flights of stairs. An added complication is that when it’s a cup game as last night the bank of three lifts at the North end of South stand is reserved for away fans as they are using tier 2 and the associated turnstiles. This means on a cup game there will only ever be one lift available for club view. If that is out of service then that means no lifts at all for tier 3. This aspect was not well thought out in the planning stage. There's 2 lifts with a capacity of about 12 each in it to service 2000 supporters. So mainly stairs yeah.
