Manchester United

I cant tell if hes solely blaming the players or hes pointing at something going on behind the scenes.

Hes said there that even if he changes the players, they still dont do well on the pitch. Whether its effort, mentality or who knows.

We know hes been a good manager before joining them.

We know he binned off some of those with bad attitudes.

Perhaps they are still infested with players on big money who are just doinf the minimum that they literally cant shift?

Looks like a few years to rebuild.

A strong figure in Louis Van Gaal didnt manage to do it....perhaps they need someone incredibly likeable and positive, that was Solksjaer though.

Who next ;o

Funny if he goes right after the window closes.
If he goes in the next few weeks, which seems inevitable, then the new manager is already off on a handicap - no pre-season, missed the transfer window etc.

I think central midfield is their weakness, and Fulham targeted this. They are incomparable to a midfield of Keane/Butt/Scholes, and Arsenals Viera/Petite would just destroy their current midfield.

Man united very nearly went to pot before Fergie got the job and also very early on in his tenure.

He was a once in a life time manager. Maybe they are now where they should be! Back in the dirt.

No manager will ever be good enough for them now as we have seen with the last 7!!

Weird, just watched the shoot after watching our game, Manc Manager sat in dug chewing his top, like the school boy sent to headmasters office for the first time. If this is what the modern player is maturing into and then management we are in for some laughs...

Sir Alex Ferguson - 26 years
Major trophies: 25
% of club total: 56.82%
Trophies per year: 0.96

All Other - 96 years
Major trophies: 19
% of club total: 43.18%
Trophies per year: 0.19

He certainly was a once in a lifetime manager. United have been successful before and after him, but their overall success rate is heavily skewed by his tenure.

A lot of talking heads lament their woes since he left, as if it’s a travesty, when in reality they’re returning to baseline form. They will no doubt have another period of big successes eventually, just not 26 years of them.

The contrast with the Grimsby manager was stark. Grimsby were having the time of their lives throughout the shoot out. Every time they scored a pen they seemed more amused than anything else ...

Perfect storm. All seating, the european ban for some* reason, the sky tv deal, murdochs fancy, 'a whole new ball game', the class of 92, a tough bully of a manager and the stars aligned.

Thing is, there's only one way from the top.

Business. Not a working class pass time, a fully fledged money making enterprise, adapt or die.
