Alcaraz could have played him in when he took a shot instead, Armstrong also didn’t square for a tap in. There was another one where Barry and Alcaraz went for the same ball when free. That was just in the first half he could have had three goals.

His movement is very good, the link up play is very good, he just needs a goal and then he’ll be motoring.

There were some touches last night that DClL could only dream of. Also Barry doesn’t fall over anywhere near as often when passing or shooting as DCL did.

Armstrong passes him the ball and he’s got his goal and everything is fine.

He definitely has some decision making things to clean up but so does most of this team. The talent is there and he should start every week.

It seems pretty clear that both he and Beto are what you get when you spend $20-30m on a striker.
A fit Beto gets about 10-15 a season. I think we all know what we've got. Barry is younger and has progressed through different standards fast.
He has a lot of potential. He's better technically and, as opposed to Beto, has lots more potential.
I dont think he's the next Lukaku but he could be the next yak.
I think Moyes starts him and subs on Beto for 30 mins most games.
Beto will chip in with a fare few goals and people will probably question why the roles arent switched.
But I reckon the whole coaching team want to see what Barrys capable of and havent seen it yet.

He's started two games now and we have won/scored a bunch of the goals in them due to him. I don't mind if he looks a bit raw or he hasn't scored if he keeps that up. He's having a positive impact on the team which is the most important criteria when assessing players.

After 3 months he'll either have kicked on and really look the part or we'll be wondering if we'll manage to get our money back in the summer

Good question. I’m thinking Moyes’ public criticisms of Beto and use of Barry are telling. Beto is being expected to do more.

Good comparison Mickey . Talking of Palace they'll struggle if they don't get bodies in as their squad is smaller than ours and they have Europe to navigate

I think we need to but a different type of striker, someone more nimble and not another hold up/target man type of player.

Despite what anyone thinks of Beto or Barry, signing an extra forward with experience is essential for me
