New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

No experience of driving to the ground. But gotta say despite the moans before the season I thought sandhills was fine after the game.

Now the caveat is it was a nice mild night, so I may think differently in winter.

But think the barrier system works quite well. We only had to wait in the queue maybe 10/15 mins or so when we joined it and listening to the Utd shoot out was quite entertaining 🤣

Although let's be frank, especially when the rest of the area develops there should be a proper sized new modern station there.

Would of been handy if they were manning the ques in the West Stand

Got there at about 7:10, only got in just after kick off!

Big ques outside with know one manning were the ques were meant to be or any order

Anyone with a remotely swaggery walk and Monitrex trackie just walked through the crowd/ques and went straight in, leaving the people in the que waiting longer to get in

swaggery walk 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

get your montirex tracky on order!

Shutters cone down, think they've got them pre installed at different points so the can segregate at different points around the stadium for different events
Ah OK. Guess it was the same in the East Stand at the other end of their section then. Was thinking there must be some kind of solid barrier or it could a be problem depending on opposition!

That premium seat deal for tonights game looked good value
The away fans position. Who thought of this? They’re prime position on tv.

The advertising strips. At one point last night Hill Dickinson was going across the screen so quickly it was difficult to even look at the screen.

I know there Walter always going to be things that are different to Goodison and potentially worse in some cases but I hope the club remains open to continuous improvement and trying to fix what doesn’t work.
I completely agree. It's handed to opposing fans the biggest visual impact in the stadium and allows their followers to be seen as dominating the proceedings. How on earth the club felt that having them on display like this was a great idea is beyond comprehension. No fan consulted on this would ever have countenenced it.

But surely this is one of the more easily fixable issues about the layout of the stadium?

Shift all the away fans onto the upper terracing and out of the lower deck. That way the north end of the ground can become - for tv purposes - a continuous mass of Everton supporters.

The stuff you talk about in terms of disabled bays needs considering too. I feel loathe to say they're a 'problem' because its very emotive and if I had family there I wouldn't thank people for seeing it that way...but IT IS a massive visual issue in a designated 'Home End' of a stadium. It just is. I have no idea of the solution on that or even whether one should rightfully be pursued, but anyone who believes it doesn't detract from what we see in football as an orthodox layout is kidding themsleves.

This stadium layout doesn't work for Evertonians. It's no use saying it does, because it doesn't.

Upper South concourse still murder before match and at HT and then the east upper is half empty. People need to use their brains and start spreading out, get your ale and move away from In front off that pinch point between the bar and toilets.

Saying that another bar or more ebar units in the east would help draw people away
You forget that people are stupid.

Are we seriously back to this again? Ffs give it a rest yeah? Disabled fans have every right to be in that place as everyone else..was sick and tired of people complaining about this during the build and it's come up again.

Get over it. And stop this campaign about the disbaled areas.

Erm this is the first time I’ve mentioned it so I don’t know what you’re banging on about. Where did I say disabled fans don’t have a right to be in that place?

What are you talking about a campaign? There’s no campaign, it’s the first time I’ve ever raised this observation.

You’ve gone massively overboard about nothing.

Nope lots of people made this exact same complaint as it was being built and through the test events.

Get over the fact disabled fans are in the space and move on..it won't change. Crying about the space it's taken up wont change anything and it's cringe to complain about it.

Out of interest if you hate disabled fans being there where do you want them exactly? Somewhere hidden out the way so you get what you want?

All in all..... I am seeing progress over the teething issues!

My only concern right now is the family stand remaining just that! Good to see a lot of 'families' in there!

But I always wondered how they were going to manage the family feel, especially when there are so many open seats for sale on a match by match basis! Of course, no need for having an under 16 with you at this point!

There were a few questionable characters in there last night and also saw one being stalked by then ushered out of the ground by police at half time! Not sure what happened.

Also, don't get me started on people vaping in the ground! What is up with people? Hope these people get identified and banned from the stadium.

Edit to add..... just seen a video on FB of the guy who got ushered out at HT from the family stand. Can guess the reason maybe why they were taken out.

I hadn't realised what people were on about regarding what we could see on TV as I went the brighton match and haven't seen anything since. Here's some screenshots. It's not exactly the 'blue walls' we were promised is it. Imagine when we're playing them lot... all the crap they bring along like birthday balloons and stuff is going to be embarrassing to say the least.

I agree but at spurs and Arsenal, away fans are positioned in the same areas. Whereas at Newcastle your sat with the gods and wouldn’t know there was any away fans at all at the ground

Not me though, so again it’s the first time I’ve mentioned it, no campaign here.

You have gone massively overboard, just calm down ffs.
