New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Watching again on TV last night, the stadium internals look too grey. Any exposed concrete walls that can be painted blue should be. The steps in each stand should be painted blue or decorated in blue livery. They do this in other stadia, like the Stade de France. Estadio da Luz has blue steps, too, as seen last night. The grey barricades that surround the pitch are industrial and could also be painted blue. You just don't see ANY blue when watching on TV. On the outside, we need to, yes, screed that roof and light up the crests and sponsor name.

I realise we've just moved in and surely there will be plans to make this house a home, but this beautiful stadium is still a little off where it can and should be with a little time and attention to detail.

Upper South concourse still murder before match and at HT and then the east upper is half empty. People need to use their brains and start spreading out, get your ale and move away from In front off that pinch point between the bar and toilets.

Saying that another bar or more ebar units in the east would help draw people away
I sit in 214, SE corner and we turn left and head towards the middle of the east where the through pass is, loads of space but also agree they could do with some more food kiosks and eBars there but as I mentioned on an earlier post seemed quicker last night all round

Got into the ground at approx 19:15 last night, about a 8 minutes queue at turnstile 2 that was much better than the Brighton and Roma games. Even managed to get straight to the food kiosk and buy a very overpriced Chicken pie, but to be fair it was very tasty indeed. No issues at all with the toilets as you go straight down the stairs from block 245, turn right and they are there. Getting out seemed to flow better as well despite merging with the away fans who were a happy bunch, although it will be different when we play the likes of Chelsea, Leeds, Man Utd etc etc. Overall the 3 times I have used my season ticket seat have been very enjoyable, luckily I have nice folks around me and the views are fantastic, just as they are all over the stadium. The area around the ground does look a bit rundown but in time it will get better.

The biggest issue is transport. Shuttle to and from Liverpool One is excellent, parking is a nightmare.

On top of that, last night M62 had two lanes closed - clearly not a stadium issue - but by the time I had walked from Liverpool One to my car, then fought through traffic, sat in traffic and eventually got home at 00:30, it was a very long evening.

I know it will all settle down, but at the moment it’s a mess for private transport.

I’m upper south west corner by the dockyard. Would love to have a more of a wonder and try the other bars and food places but before the game or at half time it’s just not doable with the volumes of people.

Do love my view and my seats (same view as Goodison seats) but small part of me wishes I picked the opposite side in the South East corner, easier access in and out of the stadium and more of a pick of the bars.

For me there’s enough space in the upper south west for another bar/bigger toilets as you go towards the west stand. Don’t know if anyone’s had a wonder round there but apart from the dockyard there isn’t a great deal.

I’m sure it’ll get sorted tho, still everything’s so new

There’s a few things I’d be really picky about. People can feel free to disagree.

The stairs and entrances behind the goals seem strangely positioned, there should be a hub of fans behind the goal but instead a large portion of it is cut away with accessible seating at the front and then the stairs and exits. The stairs also seem extremely wide and are very visible almost segmenting the stadium. It’s the same at the middle of the main stand. The areas where we’re getting the most fans closes to the pitch are bizarrely the corners and areas extending out from them.

The away fans position. Who thought of this? They’re prime position on tv.

The advertising strips. At one point last night Hill Dickinson was going across the screen so quickly it was difficult to even look at the screen.

I know there Walter always going to be things that are different to Goodison and potentially worse in some cases but I hope the club remains open to continuous improvement and trying to fix what doesn’t work.
Are we seriously back to this again? Ffs give it a rest yeah? Disabled fans have every right to be in that place as everyone else..was sick and tired of people complaining about this during the build and it's come up again.

Get over it. And stop this campaign about the disbaled areas.

First time last night. Was really impressed with the quality of architectural finish on the exterior of the stadium and plazas. I didn’t expect that on a football stadium. Reminded me of a monumental public building like the British Library. It’s clear that no corners have been cut and that it has been designed to stand the test of time.
My first time inside the wall, too. I went straight up to the brickwork to have a look at that. It looks so sharp, clean and precise.

It doesn’t look bad from a distance, but it looks brilliant up close.

Also, I loved how delicate the barrel roof looked as I walked back across the plaza at the end of the match, with the translucency of the material and the light shining through it. It almost reminded me of like a thin eggshell or something.

Photo doesn’t really do it justice, it was something about the movement as you walked.

The security tried to stop the home fans from North and West stands walking up the North side when exiting last night. It created a huge bottleneck very quickly. Looked like their plan was to prioritise away supporter exit. This changed quickly as there was 1000s penned in and 1000s more following from behind. The security seemed oblivious to this. Fans had to move barriers to prevent a safety issue. No common sense. They should be keeping the away support in the ground.

If the future plan is to funnel home supporters from the North and West stands back along the West tunnel and past the South stand there is going to be a safety issue on exit.

Or more blue gaffer tape...

Some from our group have been using park and ride

I drove from Leeds and parked near tithebarn street, walked from the stadium and then it was pretty good getting out of Liverpool, two sets of down to one lane on the M62 but to me it seemed quicker getting out then battling A580 from Goodison

Yeah mate was there for Roma, was in 212 last night. Agreed for now it's the best approach and go the through pass if the kids want a soft drink. Appreciate it's not for everyone just automatically getting a temporary £20 on your card even for a bag of crisps 🤣

Upper north west corner was great last night for the first time and was what I expected it to be, queued up at turnstile 2 at 7 and had a pint by 10past and finally managed to get a pint half time, not sure whether this was because an ebar has appeared now and because our section was blocked off from the rest of the upper tear because of the away fans but it was great!
