New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I absolutely love our new home but 2 things are massively p***** me off.

I’ve mentioned it a few times, but the concourse and stairways need sorting out. There so ugly and bland. Get the walls painted blue, get some murals, logos, pictures etc…..

People are paying good money for memberships to try and get tickets and yet again there’s blocks of empty seats everywhere, wtf…. Sort it out Everton.
 

Went last night, absolutely loved it! The stands feel right on top of the pitch and it really ‘feels’ like a football stadium.
Walking around outside, the route from town down to the stadium with thousands of other blues all has a great buzz to it.

As others have said, plenty of cosmetic work to be done, paint, murals etc as we make it a home, but the stadium itself is just fantastic.

Atmosphere in the big games will be special.
 

There’s a few things I’d be really picky about. People can feel free to disagree.

The stairs and entrances behind the goals seem strangely positioned, there should be a hub of fans behind the goal but instead a large portion of it is cut away with accessible seating at the front and then the stairs and exits. The stairs also seem extremely wide and are very visible almost segmenting the stadium. It’s the same at the middle of the main stand. The areas where we’re getting the most fans closes to the pitch are bizarrely the corners and areas extending out from them.

The away fans position. Who thought of this? They’re prime position on tv.

The advertising strips. At one point last night Hill Dickinson was going across the screen so quickly it was difficult to even look at the screen.

I know there Walter always going to be things that are different to Goodison and potentially worse in some cases but I hope the club remains open to continuous improvement and trying to fix what doesn’t work.

Saying that another bar or more ebar units in the east would help draw people away

the concourse area needs more to it, there should be at least High tables or something for people to stand around, if people got their beer and there was somewhere to go, I am sure they would

From the outside, there is the same amount of glass at the other end.... but with almost 4000 seats more. I would rather have the seats, and in effect 2 home ends for a better atmosphere. Hopefully one day that land/airspace will be negotiated.

That one is a very strange decision, I am no sure who decides these things, but at almost every other premier league ground the away fans are not really visible on TV cameras. I am not sure how easy this is to fix, can the camera positions be moved to the other side of the stadium?

Everton have said this will deffo happen over time. It’s not so far because they wanted to ensure signage was clear while fans got used to the stadium.

No doubt there’ll be loads.

We are here for the next 50 plus years.

We’ve got time for all that stuff. Plus sorting out food etc.

It’s a bit like when college campuses don’t pave paths and then see how students travel around and through. And once they find that out paths are laid.

It’s sensible.
