2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

At the moment I think he has the best eye for a pass in a team full of dribblers.

It doesn't always work out for him though. Sometimes he tried a one two and the touch doesn't go where he wants it to.

For 12m that's good value tbf.
From what I have seen Harry and McNeil have the best eye for a pass but Charly has the biggest cojones and will try them until they work. My biggest problem with KDH is he is a bit too safe as a number 10 which is not really what you want. You need your guys to make risky passes in those situations because those are the ones that put players through on goal. Playing safe is Silva ball and will lead to goal droughts.

KDH seems to want the ball to be moved with quick flicks to open space and the rest of our team is not on that wavelength yet for me.

I'd have to see more of him, but he looks a bit lost and doesn't really seem to want to take chances. I think from deep he can see the whole field and probably feels a bit more comfortable. He does work hard and fight, so maybe in a team with consistent wing play around him we will see less confusion.

Yes KDH is most conservative as 10 and takes fewer risks. Charly sometimes is wild could be something good or not . I think in games when we expect a hard one or having less the ball is more accurate start with Charly like was done vs Newcastle

I think he’s a great player, yes he’s slightly raw but he works his backside off and has a goal in him. Just unfortunate the players we’ve brought in.

For me he steps in if any of N’diaye, Grealish or KDH get injured.

Played as a 10 he’s actually a really really dangerous player.
I’m just going to plant my flag and say I think he’s better than KDH. I want him to start instead.

Exactly mate. Based on what I saw tonight, I’d much prefer Charley in the 10 role over KDH.

It's pretty obvious to me too. But a few posters yesterday gave me pelters for stating the obvious.

The boy is exciting, industrious and lethal. There's options now, which is good but he should be one of the main players as the 10.

It'll be horses for courses. Grealish, Dewsbury-Hall, Alcaraz, Ndiaye, Dibling, McNeill will all be rotated throughout the season and particularly the first 10 games to get them match fit and sharp. We also have Harrison and Tim who can play further forward as well.
If our strikers are misfiring, I can see Moyes trying Ndiaye as a striker, which would mean less long balls and more playing through the channels. Which is easier with the players we now have. This squad is shaping up to be a very good footballing team as well as putting in the hard graft needed. Exciting times ahead.

Needs to work on his understanding with Barry, seems to work better either beto....

Encouraging that he wants to get into goalscoring positions. Just needs to time them so he doesn't clash with Barry again
