Everton Youth Teams Thread

It's a joke. And the club will be surprised when the next highly rated player wants out. It's the easiest win ever and they always get it wrong
It is sad, we won’t have a better first team fixture this season unless it’s someone like Blyth Spartans in the FA cup . Hopefully Harrison plays well enough to avoid being sent out to Oxford on loan ☹️

As expected no sign of either, instead we have Campbell and Onyango on the bench who literally have no chance of ever having an impact on the first team.

….Clarke only signed his first professional contract today, we know the promise of Graham but we don’t know what’s being said/promised to these youngsters behind the scenes.

I have a view that youngsters have to be very special to force their way into the team but they will if they’re good enough. I’m a little surprised Graham hasn’t been involved but there might be a perfectly good reason.

Mate they do not have to be special to get on the bench ahead of Onyango and Campbell 😂

Patience, none of them are deemed ready yet.

When they are, they’ll be in and around the squad (like Armstrong).

Graham to me looks like he’s not physically there yet, Clarke isn’t there technically. It could happen this season for either.
This doesn't really work when Onyango and Campbell are in the squad

Did they get on? Just making up numbers.

The brighter talents will get included once they’re ready - Moyes isn’t afraid to involve youngsters when they’re close enough. I think he can be overly cautious but when they’re knocking on the door they usually get chances.

They didn’t so why not take two actual prospects along for the matchday experience?

Then he could've picked 2 promising midfield or defensive prospects then.
They’re better served playing in actual youth games than getting splinters for 90 minutes just for the sake of it.

If they’re good enough, their time will come. Honestly there’s no point having a moan, we haven’t got any truly exceptional young players other than maybe Armstrong.

No standouts in the 21s (although a couple with a good chance) - I think the 18’s have some really promising players though.

Graham isn’t there yet physically, Clarke is lively in that respect but he doesn’t stand out technically even at 21’s. Patience 😂.

I wouldn’t have rushed the likes of Graham out, though agree giving him a 5 min cameo once we were up 2-0 or something of that ilk would have been nice. But this was an excellent opportunity to get some of the older lads the likes of Heath or Benjamin first team minutes against competition that is at or even below the level they should be playing at this point in their careers.

They didn’t have a game tonight so how does this make any sense 😂
I meant the principle mate. They’re best served where they are until they’re ready or unless there’s an actual chance they get a game.

What’s the point them being sat there for 90 minutes when they’re not getting on?

In 5 years time if they’ve made it I doubt they’re looking back thinking “It really clicked for me watching us beat Mansfield 2-0 in the Carabao, that was the moment”.

O'Brien was the only other defender on the subs bench last night, so an argument would be had that Campbell would of been needed with an injury to Mykolenko early on
