Doctor Who?

(Waiting for the comments......) I have watched Dr Who since I was a kid, I honestly believe I have watched every single episode. Regarding the modern versions, since Eccleston, some very well written storylines, but often too complicated for their own good, certainly for the younger audience. Too many changes of lead actors in too short a time - the likes of Tennant & Smith had time to develop a personality, and had continuous underlying storylines, Capaldi, Whittaker, and now Gatwa have been unable to do this as they were not in the role long enough. I remain a fan, but hope that the writing matches my high expectations, in the future.

Oh ok, thanks, I'm playing to the gallery here so please it doesn't require an answer, but by chance were you playing cards in your hotel room with a Swedish super model lady of an evening during your holiday? Somehow we have a little form with this sort of thing round here.

Anyway, I'm fascinated about this video, whatever could have sold Everton to you from such a distance?
I caught a segment about the new stadium on English Premier Mornings that I was able to watch thanks to a YouTube TV subscription. I then saw part of the match vs Brighton and found myself enjoying it a lot more than the Manchester United matches I was watching. I was pretty much hooked after the first goal, but I had to leave to go to church. I am looking forward to catching more.

Dr Who became a bit too woke and gay for my Gammon tastes. Typical illegal alien coming here thinking he owns the place... send him back! 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Lol is it really gay if it's a human and an alien? I don't know, I simply don't have a problem with people being gay. So that aspect of the show doesn't bother me. What bugged me a bit was companions acting in a way that did not suit them just to suit the episode. For example Belinda sitting out the last battle. Like, she could have been epic, and instead she hid with her child who was almost designed to give them a reason to not have to write her into the battle. Oh, and the catering to nostalgia to try and bring audiences back. Billie Piper? Really?

There was an episode when The Doctor kissed a dude at a dance and my 6 y/o slapped her forehead and said "oh no, The Doctor is in love". She was concerned it would distract him from dealing with the much more pressing issue of murderous aliens/robots (I forget which).

The fact he was kissing a dude rather than a bird was completely irrelevant for her.

Gives me hope for the future, man. And she looooves Dr Who.

As its a show aimed ay a younger audience, does it need to be forced upon them?

Billie Piper coming back is quite cool as she was stuck in another dimension. But will the shock of her returning (in whatever guise it ends up being) be enough to entice the older fans back?
