Confirmed Signing Tyler Dibling

Would love another striker to let Chermiti go out on loan.
For sure a specialist Right back and a beast of a Central midfielder that bosses the game.

Wouldn't be against Brownhill as a bench option either.

Think we would have a real squad to look upwards.

The good news is we have cover for AFCON and we can actually roll out a good B team for the cups without shooting ourselves in the foot. Moyes can also finally have reliable subs. We could surprise this year IF we can survive without Branners and get him back quickly. Tarks set off the warning bells in my head this weekend.

Are Dibling and Everton the perfect match?

Such was his impact for Southampton during the first half of his debut Premier League season, he was hailed as a generational talent and linked with a £100m move to top-six clubs.

Fast forward seven months and the 19-year-old has been the subject of multiple rejected bids, before finally being signed by Everton for significantly less.

So are the Toffees getting a bargain for a young player with a high ceiling, or was Dibling overhyped in the early stages of a campaign which produced just two Premier League goals and no assists?

Firstly, the teenage talent only has two years left on his current contract, meaning the astronomical price tag mentioned in January has subsequently reduced.

Dibling, who made his Premier League debut under former Southampton boss Russell Martin in August last year, also suffered from a drop-off in form in the second half of 2024-25.

This can be partly attributed to the sacking of Martin in December and the subsequent shift to an uber-defensive approach under Ivan Juric and then Simon Rusk - a style of play simply not suited to Dibling's attacking instincts.

But there is no doubt he is a signing based predominantly on potential. Martin, himself, admitted the England Under-21 international "needs the right kind of style and environment to thrive".

Matt Hobbs definitely gets ignored by his own family.

Getting money for McNeil and beto maybe next summer for Beto now, but stranger things have happened.
Can help us improve the starting 11 and that makes the bench stronger, good teams keep Building
I don't like Beto as a starter but I really like him off the bench where the opposition CBs look at a fast unit coming on after 70 and think "Oh, FFS!"

Brownhill wants like 85/90k
A week and probably a 3yr deal. 15mil roughly to sit on
Our bench, if we want to sign a very good defensive midfielder. We can’t waste money on brownhill, I’d rather keep Tim around. Him, gana, garner and KDH can all the box to box role or destroyer role if you like and Garner can be back up in the 6 role

I remember being really hyped up and believing that John Oster was going to be the next Kanchelskis and then he just fell from the spotlight and sunk without a trace. I’m hoping it’s just his dodgy haircut that’s giving me the John Oster vibes.

I mean I’m still absolutely convinced this guy will be incredible for us… but I’ve been burnt before.
It was criminal we went from winning the cup to a top 6 finish (two points off 4th) to being in a relegation battle with 2 years.

Let's hope so...it would make sense...same with barry, I hope we can extend that one for another year.

There's actually a PSR trick or exploit essentially to signing a shorter deal with the option to extend. The amortisation per year is higher, but once you trigger the year or two extension the remaining value then gets spread over the 'new' remaining contract length.

So we'd pay around £9m per season, but if two years in we trigger the one year extension then the remaining 18m gets spread over three years so reduces the cost to £6m per season.

Gives way more flexibility in future years as long as you know the first season you are gonna be ok with PSR taking the bigger hit.

Do that across say 200m worth of signings then you can buy yourself two years in a £17m PSR room by doing so.

Moyes clearly doesn’t rate him one bit, picked Barry on Sunday even though he said he’s not ready, think we will be signing another striker, does that means Beto goes, With McNeil. And then we get a new number 9 and a wide player who can also play through the middle as 3rd choice striker, a lot to do in 8/9 days, so
Unlikely
