They were mad for us to fall on our faces, lads.

But what a trilogy of results on emotional occasions:

Last-minute derby equaliser to ensure we kept the all-time record equal in derbies at Goodison; Win the last game at Goodison; Win the first game at Everton Stadium.

Not far from perfection that. A new holy trinity.
2 of their victories at Goodison were in alternative cup competitions introduced after the European ban in 1985.

They claimed victory in a competition(s) that were set up due to their fans rioting and killing 39 Juve supporters.

This is a bit random but did anyone else have an issue with their seat number moving?

We purposely picked aisle seats, checked them out on the first test event and no issues.

Then yesterday our seat numbers have moved two along.

What a day! What a stadium! They even gave me a flag yesterday in case I missed Goodison. View attachment 322688
Stubbs said on the radio during build up that he sort of misses the posts, because they're what he was brought up with. I understood him as it was part of the character and charm of Goodison.
From the pictures, the views look paramount, and what has shone out to me is that the surface is immaculate. I think that might be because of the timing of the game (early afternoon) with sun direct overhead 'cos it's August.
The ground and the views (and the conditions) will evolve as we move through Autumn into Winter, I can see the frost and fog coming in off the river being a real dagger in the faces of some of the highest up specs. Strewth! I can feel the cold of it in my imagination now.

Excited to see what the 1878’s produce for big games. I can’t wait
Like any new house, we've got in, lashed some curtains up and stuck the kettle on.
Mrs is off to town in a bit to get some fancy bits, cushions rugs ornaments and whatever else makes a house a home.
It'll be like we've always been here by Christmas and she's had her way. šŸ‘Œ

Maybe it was me but it seemed like we got the majority of the calls from the ref yesterday. Could the bigger vocal crowd and more intense atmosphere played a part? Just seemed like when there was a decision to make the ref looked like at times he played to the crowd shouts.

Apart from his outrageous penalty decision!
