New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

If I was a RS, I'd be absolutely gutted. Getting the Soccerbus alongside the Albert Dock and the Liver Buildings - the best and most visited part of Liverpool - and seeing the blue hordes streaming along the road to our lovely new stadium raised my spirits no end. And then walking back along the dockside, with thousands of other blues, young and old, past bars and restaurants flying Everton flags, into the city centre brought it all home to me. We've taken the city of Liverpool. No matter what they spend, or what they win, or how many of their fans fly in from Oslo, this city is ours. They're stuck out in the dull northern suburbs (no offence to anyone who lives in those northern suburbs of course) while we are right on the river, and dominating the city centre cos so many of us are walking back that way. We're the first thing the cruise liners see when they enter the Mersey. We're in the heart of what made this City great.

My only gripe is that, high up in the East Stand, I kept getting distracted by the incredible view out to my right, of the mouth of the River and the Irish Sea, with boats coming and going.

What a setting for a Stadium. The RS, with their glory-hunter fan-base, are just a football brand that happens to be in Liverpool. We are, more than ever, the City's club.
Please pardon my asking, if possible next time, would you be a dear and grab a couple of photos of this please. The more we get of what the stadium offers the better off we are, each side will have it's specialist characteristics. Cheers.

First time going the ground yesterday & overall very impressed

●Stunning seeing the inside for the first time, looks amazing

● Great view from my seat, comfortable & felt like double the legroom I had in the Upper Bullens

● Atmosphere was pretty good, quite at times, but the stadium looks like it will be good for atmosphere, while most modern grounds are souless

● Easy to get served at the concessions, with barely any waiting time (loads of empty tills, people never went to)

● In & out of the ground quicker than any time at Goodison, ques moved quickly going in, & no slow trudge out after the game

● Already plenty of venues near the ground some great, some bog standard, but enough to soak up large crowds, rules out the daft saying of 'theres nothing there'. This will only improve aswell, the stadium really will turbo charge the development of the Ten Streets & surrounding areas, will be unrecognisable in 10 years

●No smell at all from the sewage plant

Cons (not many);

● Upper South concourses where alot smaller than I was expecting. Expected the South Stand bar between the viewing glass to have about double the space for people, but was really cramped in some parts, walked through most it easy enough to try & meet friends at half time but was so busy towards the middle gave up.

● The North Stand does look abit out of place, wish it was bigger

● Alot of concession tills had massive ques of about 40+ people, yet just walking 20 meters further along, you could walk straight to a till (imagine this will sort itself out as people become used to the ground)

● Southport train line closing just before the game. Must have caused chaos to thousands of blues, just shows we wont be able to rely on the trains as per

I was worried before the game. Worried that it wouldn’t feel like home, that it wouldn’t feel as special as everytime I travelled up from the Midlands to visit our beloved Goodison. I needn’t have worried - it was absolutely incredible. What a stadium.

Was on the very back row of block 246 in the North Upper and it was still a fantastic view.

Could also see Goodison in the distance from this seat through the North End windows. What a day.

Sorry for the echo, a pic of this would be just lovely. Cheers.

There she goes again
Buried me yesterday.

Many thanks to all the people with the reviews and pics and videos. They are all very much appreciated, it helps extend the blue community out through the forum and reach out to blues near and far.

There is something that's not been touched upon yet, and we've got a real treat to come soon.

It'll be a very different experience when we get a night game. It'll look totally different and dazzling bathed in blue and white lights, the crowd, the din, the lights, the city.

It's going to be amazing.

Said that in the other thread mate.

Also, the first Derby game will be special and can't imagine the noise for that unless sky decide on a 12 Sunday kickoff....
