VAR

VAR should enforce the handball rule which says proximity should be taken into consideration so they should send the ref to the screen and tell him he should review the incident again due to proximity and do his job properly
That's fair enough - I also don't think this was a penalty, but it has to be judged on its own as an incident, right? The proximity in the Chelsea game wasn't the same, the arm position etc. This search for 'consistency' whereby all handballs are the same is nuts, completely impossible. Do the refs have to watch every game anyway? Where you mention it depends on what the refs give, that's the whole point. They want it to be like that.

I know I'm very much in the minority on this, and having a pop at refs is the done thing and definitely hasn't contributed significantly to how embarrassing the game is now, but there you go.

How anyone can actually think the two pens given against us were fair is just beyond me, shocking decisions.

KDHs was actually worse than Tarks, it’s a joke of a decision, which is then compounded by corrupt VAR confirming it.

If Jordan doesn’t save it, the game totally changes.

We should be creating so much noise about it constantly, it’s difficult not to see an agenda with decisions like this, just zero consistency when it’s a scab6 team involved.

VAR should be scrapped. Just take it back to how it was. The ref makes a decision and that's it. Sometimes he gets it wrong sometimes not. I don't think that the 'advantages of VAR (the line shows that his toenail was offside) outweigh the disadvantages (don't celebrate that goal yet, we have a 16 minute check to do)!

We will never go back.

VAR is here to stay.

It was another piss take of a decision

But just to clear this shyte up, Onana done the same from 2 yards away blasted at about 60mph against City a couple of seasons ago, so no shock when today ot was blasted 3 yds away.

Absolute piss take , its corrupt and I'm tired of saying that or its just incompetence and corruption
On the Onano one his hands were higher and further away from his body if I recall correctly. The problem is the refs aren't intelligent enough to look at a player making a legitimate attempt to block the ball and understand whether their arms are in a natural position or not. I think far too many penalties are given nowadays. Handball penalties should only be given if it's deliberate/reckless. There are also far to many of the striker hanging a leg type and buying a pen. The bar needs to be much higher.

Think I read there were 9 handball offenses for penalties all of last season across the league. 2 in 2 against us this year…Have others been punished for the same yet this season?
I can guarantee the majority of those offences don't deserve a penalty. The vast majority of handballs are completely accidental. The Suarez type ones are the ones that should be punished and the John Terry goalie saves ones.

Ref watch on Sky hilarious today. Jay Bothroyd talking complete sense. Gallagher seemingly being deliberately wrong he is so bad. Trafford can handle ball outside the area as long as it’s not deliberate. But if a 70mph shot 10feet away hits a players hand that is in a natural position it’s a stone wall pen. Bringing intent into some handballs and not others is madness.

The United goal he doesn’t seem to think it’s odd that VAR said he was just moving him out of the way and it wasn’t an impactful push. So it’s a pen if you grab a shirt, but not if you two handed push a player so they fly underneath the approaching cross.

A lot of the rules are far too convoluted, but the fact he, refs and especially VAR when watching in super slo-mo, come up with such wild justifications means it’s now impossible for decisions to apply common sense.

Bothroyd doing his best, but the host should really push the point that justifications he is giving make no sense, can he not see that.
