Just home after a 16 hour day. Absolutely exhausted but what an occasion. Incredible facilities, boss atmosphere, watching a majestic Jack grealish and a 2 nil.
I will sleep sound but wake up smiling
Up the Hill Dickinson Toffees.
Just imagine, Dyche still manager, we never signed Jack and we lost in our 1st game in the championship and 777 own us

Haven't been on here for a while, but just wanted to wish all Evertonians all the best for the season in your new home.
My late Dad was a Toffee from Wallasey, and I was born there, but the family moved to Edinburgh in 1947 - and I grew up a big Hibs supporter (still am). Although living here in Edinburgh, I was brought up on stories of Dixie Dean and Jimmy Dunn.
I was last down in Liverpool earlier this year and went on the tour of Goodison with my family. I must admit to being sad at the club leaving the old stadium, but hope to get down to the Hill Dickinson for a game soon.
All the best guys.

Thought we looked good today against a decent Brighton outfit. Definitely still too easy to play through at times, but hopefully that improves as we get the right personnel back and become a bit more well drilled with the new signings.

Going forward though you can see there are sparks of a really exciting unit. Both goals were direct, fast paced, proper pieces of play.

Exciting!

Surreal experience today. Opening before KO was boss though. The La's ..... hope they keep that as a pre-game ritual.

Sound of the crowd in that 5 minute build up to z-cars was wonderful. Hairs on the neck stuff. The game went too quickly. There was some whinging about bar service speed from supporters (isn't there always) but it's a case of get down there early I think (isn't it always!).

On the whole though a super experience and a memorable opener to our beautiful new UFO. Looking forwards to seeing our shiny new mothership all lit up in the cup game on Wednesday night - the slow rising drone shots of her today looked terrific - can't wait to see her in her nightwear.

Sky: Brighton played some beautiful football, hit the frame of the goal twice (ignoring the fact Mitoma handled it), poor quality in front of goal and Everton took their chances.

BBC: stadium looks fantastic. Sound inside is loud, makeshift defence, Grealish great and looks happy, Pickford excellent at saving pens, Barry did really well.

Interesting contrast.

Good point made though that having Grealish hug the touchline and Ndiaye on the other side forces the opposition to spread across the pitch, giving much more room for KDH or whoever is 10 to operate when we have it.

Right. Wine poured, time to watch the full match again. 🍷

The "beautiful football" is a weird take but everything else from the top paragraph is fair. We rode our luck, it's silly to deny that. The Beeb summary is also fair - plenty of plus points.

Could've gone either way today, this time it went our way. Just like how very often it goes against us. That's football.
