Played a blinder really. Knew the initial price was too high. Waited Southampton out, knowing they were willing to sell and also knowing this signing was never going to be the difference between staying up or not. Got the deal they wanted. Showed other clubs they’re not going to just pay whatever they’re told the price is for a player. Really good work by this so-called lazy or incompetent transfer team.

Understand, even though I’m guilty of a bit of that myself. Those jokes still have some way to go to beat the ‘we’ll go with what we’ve got/Jack Harrison’ jokes in my opinion.
