On this date in 1892 was the official opening of a new Everton FC stadium - GOODISON PARK.

The stadium was England's first purpose-built football ground, with stands on three sides. Goodison Park was officially opened on 24 August 1892 by Lord Kinnaird and Frederick Wall of the Football Association.
 


On this day in 1619, Slavery begins in mainland British colonies of North America when the first known African captives (approximately 20) land at Point Comfort, Virginia, before being sold or traded into servitude.

I made a mistake with this, I think it was the 24th August, not the 26th.
