New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Timings to/from town:

Left seat (above away fans) on the pen award to get off for an early train, started a stopwatch that second.

Brisk stroll had me back inside Lime Street station in 37 min 30s, including probably 4min to get from seat to street. That’s a 33 min walk, vs Apple telling me 42.

Noted a pile of those scooters 300m down regent road which might be worth checking out. Specially after a skinful 🤪

Other thoughts, prolly repeating others
- bevvy and khazi situation is not good inside
- nor on the concourse
- ‘kin awesome stadium otherwise, & you could see lids of both other stadia we built clearly from the East upper concourse

First one out the way, road our look a little but all that matters is 2-0!

As for the stadium I am well impressed but catering leaves something to be desired.

I am fortunate (I think?) to have a seat in the club view which gives me a free programme of which they ran out, meet some ex-players which I think ran out and £10 to spend on food which also ran out!

Will be emailing tomorrow but will not hold my breathe waiting for an answer.

Teething problems from what I believe does bode well for a great future down on the docks, lots of places to have a drink if that’s your thing, I drove there and had no problems parking nd only took me 10 minutes more to get home than from GP and that was the walk to the car, traffic flowed.

Left a full 20 mins before final whistle at first game in the new ground?

On the TV (SkyX with Beglin as commentator) it looked great. Could hardly see the away fans from the TV angle, which some were worried about, and the sound carried well, although I wouldn't have said it came over as much better than Goodison when it was good. Covered the pre-match well with the fireworks and were very complimentary about the facilities and location.

(Jordan Pickford in the pre-match Sky interview was being spoken to from just about where I think my Villa ticket is, so psyched to see it for a real match.)
Sounded much better on tv than Goodison as they always had the speakers near away fans!

What a day.

As far as I could see, 99% of teething problems were either sorted or no longer an issue. Well done the club (for once).

Slightly disappointed that there were 1000 seats empty. I assume these were premium options that weren’t bought.

If that happens in the future, they MUST be sold to members (obviously without the perks like a meal etc).

Amazing stadium, fantastic day and great result.

However they have to sort the refreshment service out.

Upper south west corner went straight down at half time. Was going to meet someone who was in north stand but forget it with the congestion.

The dockyard food place was busy again but picked the shortest queue. Which in fact turned into the longest wait. Woman in front payed for stuff they ran out of and they were scrambling round to get her something else.

Was very stuffy in there so wanted to get two bottles of water… and ran out! Baring in mind I’d already paid. Then asked if I could just get two soft drinks, ran out of everything but Pepsi. Missed the second goal.

The guy was just standing around and ages had gone by this point. Asked him what the hold up was this time, and the Pepsi needed refilling!!! Asked how long and he said at least 5 mins. Said forget it and left. So poor, to not get a bottle of water!

Good to know. I thought there was no parking nearby?
