2025/26 Beto

….we know he’s a threat running at goal, good options regardless of who starts. Barry looks a little more rounded, did really well with his back to goal in the lead up to the first goal (and maybe the 2nd).

Barry also looks like he has freakish jumping power from a standing start, not convinced he’s a good header of a football at this stage but it could be a very useful weapon if he’s able to exploit it.

It'll be interesting if we ever sort out a better CM player with distribution into feet.

He shouldn’t be allowed to have his back to goal. He needs a Fellaini to trap the ball from the hoof and then lay it out for him to run on to. Not convinced Beto is going to work as the most forward placed player. Maybe he is better sitting behind Barry

Think dropping him worked, was more like the Beto we know when he came in, got stuck in and put himself about.

Like a train when he gets in his stride too, got the players in the side now to play balls behind, do that and there’s no stopping him
We aren’t going to be able to change everything in one window, so if he’s happy to be a squad player, he’s a decent second half sub for the time being.

The pace when the ball is played ahead of him is just silly.

Its why we need to keep doing that rather than the long balls to his head.

He'll get double figures with the 3 behind him once Dibling joins it will be chances galore.

It can't be the same thing every time, it's what limits him as a player and why he shouldn't be starting (if we have a viable alternative).

Looked just fine yesterday. Those two goals don't happen with Beto on the pitch.

I said it earlier mate, a mix of the two and we’ve got a decent striker.

Beto when he’s up for it bullies defenders and gets in behind them. One of the things I thought Barry lacked yesterday was a bit of physicality and on a few occasions the second ball was there to be won but Barry half heartedly made an attempt to win it. As I say still early doors for Barry and we shouldn’t judge him too much yet.

I dont know what the issue is to be honest.

If a player simply cannot do something and they are unlikely to improve then stop trying it.

For me, asking Beto to hold the ball up is the same as asking McNeil to use his right foot.
