2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

That’s a function of us playing deep because of lack of pace at the back. It’s not down to intensity. The spaces are just too big to cover because the defence is too deep. Branthewaite’s pace helps us up the pitch. What would we give for another physical beast like Jags at CB.
Not having a proficient hold up player up front doesn't help. Give other teams with more clinical strikers so much freedom to run at our midfield will eventually end in tears.

I mean, does the complete midfield void when we’re out of possession not concern people a little bit like?

Today was the only time ive seen a truly excellent performance from him.

I posted in the KDH thread that those 2 central positions are a real confusion for me.

Iroegbunam and Gana were everywhere centrally BUT you make an excellent point.

Neither of them can hold a deep defensive position as a 6 as both move towards the ball.

Moyes apparently wants a 6.

2 positions = Iroegbunam, Garner, Gana, KDH, Armstrong + new 6 = 6 players for 2 positions.

That seems like overkill to me and i think we need a sitting 6 due to having 4 attacking players.

Potentially Iroegbunam becomes our new 'Gana-type' midfielder?

Head scratcher.

He’s hardly played you nutter, so it’s been very difficult for anyone to say what sort of player he is or is going to be.

I suspect Armstrong getting a TDD loan move, if we manage to bring in another midfielder. No use keeping the lad here, if he's not getting minutes.
