What a day in the sunshine. First win at the new ground and it honestly felt like a weight lifted. The place looked stunning with the light bouncing off it and the roar when the final whistle went will stay with me for a long time.
Something feels different this season, different good. Maybe it’s the lift of the new home, maybe it’s just hope finally turning into belief, but there was a freshness about today that we haven’t felt in years. Let’s make this stadium a place we all look forward to every other week, and a place teams hate to visit.

The future finally feels like it’s here, and for once it feels bright.

Brighton finished 8th last season, 13 points ahead of us. They'll be top half again this season if they can keep their best players. They've got some real quality attackers.
Of course, they have. Not in question.

But people were on here asking "do we have a chance?" against the mighty Brighton over the last few days. My God, the greatest Brighton side in their history - this one - regularly struggles to beat the worst Everton side in ours - the bones of our current side (who thrashed them 5-1 and beat 'em again last season).

We ALWAYS have a chance against whichever overachieving club is brilliantly outperforming itself against all odds. We can simultaneously admire and envy them while fully fancying ourselves to beat them in a one-off game.

Will we finish above this very good Brighton side? That's a different question. But our ownership still has 10 days of this window to make it a better fight...

Rode our luck there, Brighton need a striker, Wellbeck is done.
Hard to see past Grealish as MotM, can't remember him losing the ball.
Tim was good apart from needless yellow, Garner grew into the game and Pickford made crucial top drawer saves.
Good game, and good to get it out of the way 👍

Mate we won’t fix all the issues we have in 10 days, what we want to see is progress and not in another relegation battle.

I think we will be okay on that front, and next season more progress
Of course we won't finish all issues. But there are plenty that we HAVE to fix in the next 10 days. Then we can build on it again next year.

I know we are all giddy right now ( well I am), but Pickford is so underrated outside of our club. Saved us two goals today. Huge if either of those go in.

The abuse he gets from outside of the club is laughable.

His "cheat sheet" on his bottle showed Welbeck puts them 50% either side. Yet they still banged on about him having a "advantage", using the bottle.

We love him, he loves us. That's all that matters.
