Lads, it's Brighton.*

*A really brilliantly-run club, but one operating on a fraction of our budget and potential (all the more reason to celebrate their excellence both off and on the pitch). But the idea that we couldn't get a result today - or any day - against them given the historical and genetic mismatch betrays how low in self-confidence after decades of traumatic mismanagement many of our fans are.

Brighton finished 8th last season, 13 points ahead of us. They'll be top half again this season if they can keep their best players. They've got some real quality attackers.

You want a CB to be like a ref, or a Prime Minister, where you don't notice them at all but know they've done a job. Keane was exactly that

Great performances all round. Although he switched off a couple of times, I hope people will back off Iroegbunam a bit now. Played well. Barry wasn't able to show what he could do yet, but a couple of brilliant bits of hold up play. Everyone else was superb.

So nice having multiple footballers with footballing intelligence and the ability to manipulate a ball. For all Moyes' bad decisions on Monday, ge got everything spot on today. COYB

Mate we won’t fix all the issues we have in 10 days, what we want to see is progress and not in another relegation battle.

Minteh is mint, strong, fast and smart. Garner did GREAT against him considering everything and I loved watching Grealish help him out.

Hats off to Gana, Keane and Iroegbunum who I thought all barely put a foot wrong and were very steady.

At times Ndiaye looked class, great he got the first goal, but there were a few dips in his game, so he can improve.
