It is extremely disappointing to be going into a new season, when the new owners had given us so much hope, with a centre half and a midfielder as fullbacks. When that is added to the fact that we are playing our first league game at a new stadium it only adds to that disappointment. However enough of the negativity, let’s get the new era underway with a good performance, a few goals and three points. COYB.

Exciting that we are kicking off at BM today but let us not skirt over the fact our squad is not ready, the club left it massively under cooked with holes in many positions.

The fume if Brighton win today will be next level.

Looks like Dibling is probably done and just the general crowd buzz around this game - which seems to be higher than for any BMD Stadium game so far. I'd have thought it'd have peaked against Roma, but it appears loads have been deferring their first game for today.

Oh, and I also just get the feeling we'll win handily.

I hope that's ok with you as an explanation.

Personally Dave I think its a joke that we are going into Leeds away with 2/1 odds to win and Brighton at home with higher than 2/1 odds to win. The stattos think we are in for another season of struggle

Means nothing. If this game was tacked onto the end of last season we'd have been favourites.

If Sky has any respect for us they'll keep that humungous arsehole McCoist from covering this game.

They cursed us with his pissed presence on the final day of Goodison; to use him for today would be beyond belief.

I can see Mcneil coming in for this as a right winger. If Grealish is fit I'd like him to start at 10, but if not it'll be Alcaraz. Ndiaye on the left.

Hopefully puts KDH in midfield with Gana if Garner plays left back again.
