New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

It’s going to be an emotional, proud, exciting historic day.

I’ve absolutely loved watching the stadium take shape over the last 4 years.
Credit to all the drone guys for capturing and sharing their footage. I looked forward to getting my ‘stadium fix’ every week to see what progress had been made.

Just need 3 points to make today perfect.

UTFT!

I'm quite interested to find out whether the people I sat with at the Roma game were in their ST seat?

I had two very quiet people either side of us, a young family behind and Andy Burnham in front.

I've sat with many of the same people for the last 26 years, and this will take a bit of getting used to. I know I won't feel as comfortable as I did at Goodison, and Im concerned that will have an effect on the volume of my support today. I can be quite vociferous at times, but a lot of that has come from being so comfortable with my surroundings.

It feels a little bit like turning up, alone, to a works Christmas party a month into the job.

My anxiety would be through the roof doing this 😂

My fellow Evertonians: today is not just another matchday - it is a moment that will be written into the illustrious history of our great club forever. For generations, we sang, we roared, we suffered, and we celebrated at Goodison Park... together. That historic old ground gave us memories that we will all remember and cherish. But now, we stand at the dawn of something new - a magnificent new home on the banks of the Royal Blue Mersey and a chance to carry the spirit of the Blues to the future... together.

When the boys in blue walk out onto this pitch, they will look to us: they'll look to the noise, the colour, the passion in the stands. They’ll need us - every last one of us - to encourage them if and when things are not going well. We Evertonians, as the twelfth man, have got our team over the line time and time again.... together. The Palace game under Frank was perhaps the most memorable recent match in which we dragged our team over the line with our support, but the Bayern Munich game of '85 is the Everton memory I cherish the most. I remember the smug former Watford goalie, Ben Foster, saying that we Evertonians had started to become an asset... to opposing teams! Let's prove him and his ilk wrong today.

Let's make Bramley-Moore Dock a fortress from the very first whistle.

This is our time. Our new home. Our new legacy. Let's write it together. UTFT!

I read that in a Churchillian voice, do it, it works a treat. Just add this...

"We will boo them in the south stand, we will boo them in the west, let it be known, that this, was their finest pint of Chang"

I think everyone will be feeling the same mate, I sat by some great people at Goodison, great atmosphere, funny shouts, limbs etc, at the end of the day we are all blues, enjoy, but I do hope we are sat by similar people to as at Goodison.

Similar feeling. I know the two lads right behind us are in their season ticket seats. Already spoken to them at the Roma game. So that helps.
Like you I can be passionate at times, I'm sure anyone in the general area will understand and will have sat by similar at Goodison, we are all Blues.
Enjoy Buddy.

You should be in the changing room giving this as a speech to the team, we would win 10-0

The “new” people we are sat next to probably will be feeling the same. Missing old friends, missing Goodison, unsure of their new surroundings and the new folk around them. I don’t think it will take long to form new friendships and create new memories. Today will be my first match in my new seat after 30 years in the same seat at Goodison. I’m going to say hello to the new faces around me and take it from there! UTFHDT

We thank you for Everton's new home, O Lord, for the shelter it will provide, for the moments of life that will be shared within it.

Dwell with them in this place, O Lord.

Dwell among them in these spaces, in these rooms.

Be present at this table as family and friends watch together.

Be present at the kick off and the final whistle.

Be present in the work here. Be present in play.

May your Spirit inhabit this home, making of it a sanctuary where hearts and lives are knit together.

Where bonds of love are strengthened, where mercy is learned and practiced.

May this home be a harbor of anchorage and refuge,

And a haven from which they journey forth to do your work in the world.

May it be a garden of nourishment in which their roots go deep

That they might bear fruit for the nourishing of others.

May this new home be a place of knowing and of being known.

A place of shared tears and laughter;

A place where forgiveness is easily asked and granted,

And wounds are quickly healed;

A place of meaningful conversation, of words not left unsaid;

A place of joining, of becoming, of creating, and reflecting;

A place where diverse gifts are named and appreciated;

Where they learn to serve one another

A place where their stories are forever twined by true affections.

Grant also, O Lord, that their days lived gratefully within these walls, enjoying these fellowships, would serve to awaken within them a restless longing for their truer home. Incline all our hearts ever toward the glories of that better city, built by you, O God, a city whose blessings are never ending, and whose fellowships are eternally unbroken.

Amen.

Good luck to all who are going today.
I was lucky enough to attend 2 of the 3 'test events' but unfortunately missed out on the ballot for today. I have to wait until Wednesday to see my first competitive game in our new home.
For those of you who are going today, particularly those who are seeing the new Stadium for the first time, let me assure you that it is indeed magnificent and you are in for a treat.
It WILL feel strange having to adapt to new match day routines, particularly for the STH and 'regular' match goers, sitting by strangers etc, but remember that this is YOUR team inside YOUR ground.
Make yourselves heard. Shout and sing and encourage those around you to shout and sing. Show the watching world exactly how supportive and intimidating Evertonians can be.
