I’m happy because we’ve done what was required to get a player we obviously wanted. Time will tell as always whether he’s worth the outlay, but choosing to be optimistic on this one.

A couple of times from memory, Jelavic was done and paraded the night we beat City and same thing happened when we signed Aiden McGeady

You don’t have to worry about Spurs, there would be riots our end if we go in for him. Good player with the potential to become a top player, but we can’t be spending the best part of £50m on him, he is not ready to play Champions League football and we’ve already got Bergvall, Gray, Tel and Odobert who are in that category of young player we’re trying to nurture.
