New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I deliberately didn’t go to any of the test events , I’ve waited my time to make my first experience of the ground the first league game .

I regretted that a little the morning of Roma but that wore off . Sitting here this morning I can’t wait til tomorrow . To take everything in , to get to my seat , because it is mine now , the view from my spec the nervous bounce on my toes and the first z cars blaring out .

I’m not an emotional person but leaving goodison and the memories tugged at me heartstrings however tomorrow at 2pm if I could be anywhere in the world I’d be in this stadium and it’ll be special .

You didn't miss much at the Roma game. It was a bit sterile as it was mainly people walking round, taking pictures etc.

The real deal will be Brighton, I'm a bit jealous that's going to be your first experience of it.

I don't understand who thought fake accents and 'chicken and a can of coke pepsi' would be a humourous way to advertise the opening weekend? I can't tell if it's done tongue in cheek, who's the official chicken partner? Bernard frigging Matthews?

Bernard Matthews is more of a turkey man Rita

What does ‘founding partner’ actually mean?

It's a long way from founding fathers.

I remember when the stadium was first getting off the ground and many were talking about naming the stands after the likes of Mahon, Baxter and Cuff.

What an incredibly naive belief that looks now. You can see easily enough how much of a corporate work horse this stadium will be.

We have a massive fight on our hands to keep hold of Everton as a cultural totem - it's not enough for us to be based in a north end dock district like Vauxhall.

At least the away fans won’t get lost, they won’t miss those Hill Dickinson signs

Given his usual attire I’m not that sure that outfit is from the ad wardrobe team, or just his day to day clobber.
His kecks the other day looked like part of the stadiums wind mitigation strategy.

Spoke to Reidy at one of the recent anniversary events.... I'd had a few drinks and I'm ashamed to say that after all the years of wanting to meet him and thank him for all the great memories, the only thing I could say on the day was: "Peter, what's going on with yer kecks mate?"

Another half-pissed-up wasted opportunity!
