I have no doubt there are, but they play for other clubs and we can’t afford them. Currently we need 5 players just to fill out a Premier League squad for the season, Tyler Onyango gets on our bench as it currently stands. I think on the 23rd August it’s time some fans took a step back and actually assessed the state of our squad properly.

£15m should be sufficient to purchase a player in today’s market able to reproduce anything Brownhole could possibly bring to the squad.
He is not very good and he is 30 , he would be the very definition of throwing money down a drain.
Unless we are actually planning for playing in the Championship.

Consistently proved he’s nowhere near good enough for Premier league football for a few years. Congratulations on having a standout year in the championship at the age of 29 and good luck with holding out for a club desperate enough to pay you nearly 100k a week but thankfully it won’t be Everton.
I hear Sheffield Utd, Ipswich and Celtic are currently options, seems like he should have stayed at Burnley if he wanted another crack at showing just how bang average he is in the Premier league. All the best Josh

I'm not massively enthused on the signing, but I remember thinking the same on Ashley Young who did well. As long as the salary was sensible, I can see sense in it. In the same way I could see sense in rolling on Keane's contract, or offering Doucoure a cheaper deal.

You do need a squad.

With all due respect you cannot compare Ashley Young with Tosh Brownhole.
One hit the heights in his career.
Whereas the other plumbed the depths.

I have no idea where this “Ashley Young did well” stuff comes from I keep reading. Like at least 80% of our appearances he was a liability.

I’m not in love with Brownhill, especially when I think Moyes will eventually end up benching one of KDH, Gueye or Garner as I don’t think they can all play together.

But I think it’s stupid to downplay someone’s talent based on who they’ve been contracted to, especially if a sizeable chunk of the contract was under someone like Dyche.

Tarky has spent most of his career at crap clubs, but that didn’t stop him from being a great pickup on a free transfer for Everton.
