New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Shhh if you don’t tell them, neither will i and we can enjoy our free programme

Really pleased to get an email from the club welcoming me to Club View. Free programme, £10 loaded on my season ticket, can’t wait.

Pity my season ticket isn’t actually in Club View
Yes, I got the same email and it worried me a bit as it looked like I had committed to £1200. How can the club get that so wrong?

I was at Leeds on Monday night and they was chanting at us that we've sold our soul. I've been thinking about it a lot this week, and think they may be right but time will tell.

The irony was lost on them knuckledraggers though as they've effectively joined the Red Bull franchise. Fking helmets.
My interpretation of our situation is that we're having to adapt to meet the new demands of a PL club who wishes to be successful.

At times, it may be uncomfortable for us as fans to see the club change, but I keep telling myself that there is no gain without pain.

I'm excited for tomorrow and our move to BMD, because I am hoping it's a catalyst for change; equally, I will continue to miss the charm of Goodison.

Likewise, the club are going to squeeze as much cash out of as possible, but again if that helps bring success... it is what it is.

The uncomfortable situation will only come if the club doesn't turn us round as we all hope.

Took me by surprise that chant, and we’ll get it al season. Moving to the Tesco megadome in Kirkby would have been us selling our soul. Given we had to move from Goodison, moving to the banks of the royal blue Mersey, on the cities historic dockland, into that steep, tight modern football stadium is as Everton as it gets. That’s why the other lot are so jealous

I’ve been saying that for a couple of years, Etihad, Emirates, Tottenham,West Ham are stadia , we’ve built a football ground.

I can remember as a youngster arguing with Liverpudlian mates that we had a proper football stadium (with our tall double/triple-decker stands on all sides), whereas they just had a very basic football ground. It seems strange to be now arguing the opposite about our new stadium (in relative terms).

Tbh, Spurs stadium is every inch an association football ground. Yes it can accommodate NFL.... but so can most football grounds, because our pitch is bigger than that for American football. Where Spurs works better is that the movable pitch lowers the playing surface, allowing the teams to congregate on side lines without obstructing the front row views on the sides..... so it is a myth to describe it as primarily a NFL stadium. If you check most NFL stadia they are usually quite different in format/proportons to Spurs, which is essentially a better proportioned version of the Emirates, with a Kop moulded into one end. Of course what those stadia have in common with many NFL stadia, is that there is a strong design onus placed on having a full range of corporate/hospitality over several tiers. That was central to the business cases for funding their stadia. The Etihad is also primarily designed for football (the athletics format was completely different and involved no lower tier and a temporary end stand).... yes, it's a bit airy and more wide-open, and the fragmentation of its multi-tier format hasn't given it a great atmosphere, but I think that the new home end could greatly improve that.... if they can actually fill it. Of course the real outlier is the London Stadium.... an Athletics stadium that was never meant to host football..... and fails miserably by every measure.

Awfully romantic of you mate, but wait until the arguments start in the steep stand you mention because instead of creating an atmosphere half of it will want to sit down like they're in a theatre.

It's already started on Twitter. I seen someone get called 'the crowd police' because he wanted people to stand up in the standing section.

Take away the context of some of the daft chants on Monday, I fear that type of atmosphere has gone for us, and it will get worse in the coming years when the average man is priced out.

Between RB and the 49ers - and we’ve sold our soul 🤣

I deliberately didn’t go to any of the test events , I’ve waited my time to make my first experience of the ground the first league game .

I regretted that a little the morning of Roma but that wore off . Sitting here this morning I can’t wait til tomorrow . To take everything in , to get to my seat , because it is mine now , the view from my spec the nervous bounce on my toes and the first z cars blaring out .

I’m not an emotional person but leaving goodison and the memories tugged at me heartstrings however tomorrow at 2pm if I could be anywhere in the world I’d be in this stadium and it’ll be special .

Im delighted with the stadium mate but the real test will be the atmosphere it generates. It will take a while for that to settle but I can’t wait for the first big moment tomorrow to hear what it can sound like

I do worry about the atmosphere , goodison on a big game particularly at night but let’s not kid ourselves last couple of years it’s mostly been poor .

Feel like the likes of palace and Bournemouth have drained the spirit from many of us , not to mention Dycheball .

As you say first big moment tomorrow I’m hope can show us something . It just feels like a win would set the tone going forward, we can but hope .

Well this is it for me and my lad waited for the first League home game never went the test events always said had to wait been a season ticket holder for 40 years (FFS feel old putting that). can't wait it took me weeks to get over the last game at the old lady. This is it and get a chance see my dad's(deceased )stone I got he was always hopeful he would be about for new stadium . his name is there and in spirit .COYB let the new chapter begin 💙
100% could have written that myself. Saved it until tomorrow and the get the Goodison grieving out of the way before stepping inside our new home. I've been an STH longer than I've been married and I was married in 1989 so splitting up with The Old Lady was a difficult one. Didn't want to jump into the open arms of a new flame whilst she was still just around the corner, but there comes a time when it has to be done. Sat with the same group of lads I've always sat with who became great mates purely by meeting in the Paddock over many moons and the emotions we've shared is just incredible. There'll never be a place so dear to me than Goodison, she was that special, but as you say a new chapter begins....and who knows, after some weekly flirting and getting used to this 'dating' lark again I'm sure we'll fall in love with Hilda.
New routines to start, new sounds to hear, new sights to see and new Blues to meet.....onwards and upwards UTFT's

Jealousy is a green-eyed monster...let the opposition chant their profanities as it'll rouse us even more.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't try using a different turnstile than on your ticket, because unlike Goodison it shouldn't work on another entry point.

If you have genuine issues with the stairs, head to the box office, and they can amend access on your ST/ticket for turnstiles with escalators or stairs.

There should be a dedicated person there to do it, as well.

I hadn’t really seen this post mate so apologies for basically posting the same message .

it’s eerily similar to everything facing me tomorrow , seems a few of us are in exactly the same position .

Have a fantastic day UTFT
