I thought we would walk away from 1 the price tag - 2- the sell on clause - 3- the add ons plus if he proves to be brilliant with a sell on clause - @Goat was the only poster back then who stated a deal would get done or maybe a few others who stated he would sign - I hope if he signs he can do the business TBH as we need a ray of light - or we have not just caved in out of desperation ?

I watched him in a poor Southampton side last year in some games he looked the business worth about a 15 million punt as in the last game of the season ever at Goodison if he played in that game no blue fan was raving about this winger on this forum as a potential signing for us as they were already relegated? ?

He always felt like someone Spurs would swoop in at the end to get so glad it looks done.

It’s got to the point were I just wanted to pay the money for fear of watching him in 2 years time thinking what would have happened if we got him like so many attacking players we went for under Thelwell

Hopefully we can all be a bit more positive as a fan base. If you’d have said at Christmas we’d get Grealish and Dibling in the Summer I would have thought you were insane. UTFT
when u see the likes of west ham getting thrashed by Chelsea, we don't want to be in the mix with them down there.

time to take risks again like the way forest have spent,
am quietly confident we won't go the way of the moshiri era

I’ve been especially negative about the recruitment team the past week or so but fair play if they manage to get this lad, a
CDM, RB and if I’m being greedy a backup versatile attacker then it’ll be a very impressive window overall.

Another slice of humble.

Tel, you ever seen the end of braveheart? or the good version of butch cassidy and the sundance kid where the cameras kept rolling at the end?

We're so close, it's so juicy.

This saga should have been started early July (latest) not early August, but you can't deny Hammond has done very well here

How long til the rest of the football world catches on to "the Friedkin" (walking away and then getting a reduced fee 3 weeks later) as a negotiation tactic?

It works every time in the right situation. Moshiri had to sell and TFG walking away from a bad price got him to come down to their comfort level.

Not quite the same here but Southampton were at least willing to sell, and then they started spending the Dibling money, so it was time to hammer out a deal.

They haven’t done this with every signing but they are smart businessmen, which is what everyone has wanted in charge of this club for decades.

I will never share any info ever again. My reputation has been sullied on here for 3 weeks, disgusting really, I’m a long standing member of this community but I find myself questioning my choices now. I have never lied, wummed is mislead anyone, to be honest this attitude towards me has cut me deep…. Deep. Mamba out
OK...see you.

You must be gutted about Pickford staying all this time and just hoping we hurry up and sell Branthwaite. Imagine Branthwaite stays for 10 years and we don’t make a penny.
We can all dream about Branthwaite staying for 10 years but the likelihood is extremely low. Football today is capped so that only a few clubs can win anything. The top players eventually move so that they can play champions league and challenge for medals. We're not even close to being one of those clubs so eventually he'll want out.

Pickford is an exception and I'm grateful that he's stayed and saved us so many times. However, it's not difficult to make a case that he lacks ambition and should have a few medals on his shelves.
