I'd like to win a trophy but genuinely couldn't care less about this.

Forgot Newcastle won it and the fact city won it like 5 times in a row or something shows most teams aren't bothered.

A chance to end our long trophy drought, a day out to Wembley and a place in Europe is why we need to take this seriously. That said it is a competition we appear utterly jinxed in. Even the likes of Swindon, Oxford and Swansea have won it yet we've not had a sniff.

I've said for years it sums up our relationship with this trophy that in the 84-85 season when we were arguably the best side in Europe, we still managed to get knocked out of it by Grimsby...at home!

To be fair to Grimsby, they were a fairly competent second division side back then, if the play offs had been introduced a couple of seasons earlier, we might well have been playing them in Division One that season, they'd finished in the top 5 the season before.

Looks like they're concentrated in the upper rows of the south and north stands now. There's virtually nothing left in the east and west stands.

We (Mansfield) have sold close to 5000 so far. I expect we'll push 6000 by matchday. I'm hoping for a full house to increase our payday, but mostly just buzzing to see us play in a stadium like this. UTS!
