Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

Just strange that they only selectively enforce it in the prem based on which badge your shirt has on it
Tbh it's not something I ever remember watching a game and paying attention to, or thought they had/hadn't enforced it when they should/n't have.

For me there aren't any bad ones yet as the pen is the correct decision and the corner decision is hardly a game changing one. Yes potentially we could have scored from the corner but talk about clutching at straws

Exactly. They were looking for a way to disallow the goal and found one. It's a classic tactic. Unfair enforcement of rules. They can hide behind the fact that it's 'breaking the rules' but when it swings the other way it's 'that would be harsh to enforce that, you shouldn't disallow the goal for that', so in both instances they'd up being right, but also get to be biased and cheat.

Stop it, we would all as fans shout for a penalty.
Fans about and complain for a lot of things, completely irrelevant to issue at hand. As I have said on other threads, other than Clattenburgs performance in derby all other decisions against us were honest mistakes. Can I understand why it was given? Yes. My issue is that Milner handballs it with his hands above his head, yet we don't get penalty. Jesus blatantly handballs it against us, yet ref ignores it. Before VAR, honest mistakes were made, not just refs making up rules on spot. I've seen decisions made on our behalf that were clearly wrong.

i can't be bothered to read the (frankly overly complex) rules, but i can see how some people might think that JT deliberately leaned into the shot knowing that it would strike his arm. Is that a penalty nowadays? No one knows beacause the laws have been deliberately made more obtuse so that they can be interpreted in favour of 'the big guys'

Hmm.

We were 2-0 up and the ref gave Brighton a penalty after judging KDH 'deliberate' handball whilst blocking a shot.

Another dubious decision in my view. Not as bad as Tarky last week but still one that seems inconsistent with other teams decisions.
Ref gave the pen immeditely on the pitch and not overturned by VAR. Could have let them back in.

'Brighton wasted another opportunity to get back into the game after 74 minutes when they were awarded a penalty when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall handled Yankuba Minteh's shot, but Jordan Pickford dived to his left to save Welbeck's spot-kick'.

We're watching these refs!

Pickford needs to have opposition penalty taker details on his water bottle as it looks like they are going to get one every game :dodgy::dodgy:
He does and he did!
Welbeck was 50% right and left - so Jordan waited til the last minute and saved it comfortably. What a goalie that lad is. Most important player for us in our PL history.
