2025/26 David Moyes

Honestly, if I was a player and I didn't have Everton associations there's not a chance I'd want to sign for Everton after what Moyes had to say there.

At one stage he said we'd have to ask agents to think laterally about signing for us.

If there's ever a way of misrepresenting and talking Everton down that feller will find it.

GTF Moyes. We're Everton FFS.
Obsessed

There's no world they should have allowed a) Thelwell and Purdy to leave ahead of this summer and b) Moyes to manage the transfers in their stead. Madness.
Exactly, that's why TFG aren't up to running a football club. I can only hope that they and Kinnear see sense and bin off the recruitment team and bring in a DOF.

Strange vibe about that presser imo

near the end he states Europe is a big reason being unable to bring the kind of players he wants and earlier he mentioned going down the pecking order of players they bring in.

This is the problem isn’t it, unless your recruitment is a major success this season and we manage a European spot in the league or we win one of the domestic cups, we face the same recruitment problem next year as well and prolonging the dull, tedious existence we currently have.

Kick the can has a new
  • stadium - we need to stop talking about it after Sunday
  • players dont want to play for us
  • the team are not at it yet
  • agents will hopefully sell Everton as a place to come to

It’s just existing isn’t it that’s all we do exist.

There was nothing of any note in that press conference. Very boring questions, nothing said that we didn't already know.

I much preferred Moyes when he was holding the recruitment team to account and trying to drive standards. It feels like he has just accepted this won't be a good window now. That's my only take away from this press conference. I wanted to hear him call out the recruitment much more vocally because it's important that the committee know what has happened so far is totally unacceptable at Everton.

I feel like the optimism and ambition has been drained out of him over the last few weeks and I think that's an extremely worrying sign for the new ownership.

He's part of the committee, Tim.

Think it's pertinent to note that his tone shifted once KDH and then Grealish were brought in. Clearly two lads that he was the most happy to sign off on thus far.

We will have to do that.

There’s a storm brewing at the club, I can just sense it, similar to when we had full revolt against Benitez and then Brighton at home.

Now add in, £7 pints, paying through your nose for the privilege of a season ticket.

Then little things like this..

He's part of the committee, Tim.
He is, but it's absolutely not his job to negotiate and conclude deals and draw up contracts.

Personally I think the idea of a committee is pretty farcical anyway. There needs to be someone in charge who ultimately makes the decisions. And I trust Moyes over people who have no previous track record in recruitment at Everton.

Like a Director of Football maybe ?

That's Moyes, Tim. He has the final say, so has been reported.
