I think McNeil is decent too but he's the one player in the squad I could see us selling. Moyes doesn't seem like he wants to play him and it's probably the one area of the pitch where we actually have a cluster of players. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go late in the window if we get a couple of midfielders in. Not saying that's what I want but I could see it happening.

We had two goalkeepers on the bench (again), does any other PL club does this as much as us ? It’s embarrassing.
We need to have a squad of sufficient size to compete .
McNeil is a decent PL player who can contribute goals and assists across the season. Not saying he’s world class but, but the only world class players we are going to sign currently are young ( Branthwaite) or approaching the twilight of their careers ( Grealish )
McNeil is solid mid table player and we are a solid mid table club , with a solid mid table manager . We are well matched.

He’s spent the majority of his career in the bottom half. He’s been 10th once
All I’m saying is Moyes didn’t use him on Monday, that’s a massive red flag for McNeil. He’s not good enough to kick us on and 2 of our best 3/4 players play in his position.
Also we get a fee of 17mil the profit would allow us to spend 30/40mil that’s massive for us right now. Just need to hope there’s a buyer

McNeil isn’t the problem.
And the way it’s looking currently letting a bottom half PL quality player leave doesn’t look wise cause I don’t see us signing anymore top PL player’s this window.
Maybe a few loans to see us through this season .

I’m not saying he’s a problem, I’m saying he’s not good enough long term. 80% of the players who’ve been playing for us the last few years aren’t good enough. Abd to move on you sell the ones you can make money and improve, that’s the only way to move forward for a club like us, McNeil is one of the few players we can make money on and not miss his presence. In the next 12 months, McNeil, garner, Patterson, Beto. All get moved on, that could give us decent money to move on, Liverpool are selling Elliot, talented kid, but they have spent 300mil and can get money back in.

We need to be ruthless moving forward, sentimentality has hung around our club like a bad smell for years

He's fine, scores occasionally, gallops forward. I enjoy watching him.

Fitness is a question, but should play left, with Grealish on the right. or have a a good 30 mins / cover for Ndiaye and Jack. madness to sell. He's played, he's improved, he's useful, this is precisely how we should develop our team, not constant expensive short term fixes.

I do understand the he's 3rd choice left, sell and get a solution for our right side, but this is not the way to do that.
. There's a reason pep didn't play Jack , that was a huge gamble that's left no funds for our right side which is a MUCH BIGGER PROBLEM!

If finances are tight he should be the first to be sold.
  • Is he better than either of Grealish or Ndiaye on the left or right? No.
  • Is he a number 10? No.
  • Is he a left back or left wing back? No.
  • Two years left on his contract - so last real opportunity to sell at a premium? Yes.
Like I said, if finances are tight and we will otherwise struggle to sign enough players to fill our actual problem areas, he should be sacrificed. Moyes obviously doesn't fancy him as a starter, and yes he would be a decent option as a rotation player, but we appear to be in a desperate situation once again with regards to bringing players in.
 
Playing as badly as we did at Leeds and he doesn't get on for even a minute when fully fit after pre season.

No future here, nice lad, tries, but if you can't get minutes for the team in it's current state and form then as a club we need to get those out the door to bring in money whilst we can.
