That does ignore though that if he has increased his value, he’s played very very well for us, in he same way as you had use and enjoyment of that car. Didn’t just buy it, watch it depreciate then sell it.

All the talk of Spurs involvement knackering our negotiating stance, and “they can’t have a high price and a high sell on”. There is no negotiating stance as they have made clear there is no negotiation. And they can ask for whatever they want.
Yeah but he was talking about selling him for less than we paid and calling it a profit and a job well done.

Looking all rather silly business now.

The lad himself could have forced the issue weeks ago. So he himself can't to bothered.

Must be dozens of playets across Europe that could do a job on the right wing in EPL...
It’s spunking money on useless players across Europe that put us in the mess of the last few years. I would take proven PL any day over the flops we've signed from abroad.

Hang on...

You're actually saying Everton have bought/sold well the past decade?

If you want to play top trumps, I'll win. Comfortably. I'll just go and get my Bolasie, Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin, Williams, Klaassen, Tosun, Walcott etc etc cards. What ruined Everton is getting zilch back on too many players we paid a good fee for.

Whoa, no, not for one minute am I saying we’ve bought well

Only saying they we’ve tended to get decent fees when we have sold players. We haven’t sold enough though and hung on to too many for too long because we’ve not been able to shift them precisely because of the poor buying you mentioned.

Lukaku - 80 mill PL record pre-Neymar
Richarlison - 60 mill
Onana - 60 mill
Stones - 50 mill record fee for a teenager at the time
Gordon - 40 mill
Digne -30 mill
Gana - 30 mill
Moise Kean - 30 mill
Iwobi -20 mill
Vlasic 20 mill
Lookman 15 mill
Barkley 15 mill

There’s one or two in there that should have gone for more, and the timing of the Neymar deal after we sold Lukaku was annoying, but that’s not a bad record for big sales.

The problem has more been the likes of Gomes DCL Doucoure Bernard Mina etc. who just ran off the end of their contract without receiving a fee. A lot of that is down to previous recruitment mistakes of putting players on high wages then they get injured and no one wants them so they stay too long.

Ah yes 22 year old teenager John Stones.

Getting a decent fee for our top players is one thing, but my point was our sales as a club over the last decade hasn't been good enough.

The biggest reason for that is poor recruitment, not prioritising resale value. "it's not your money fella why are you arsed". We need to do that now, more than ever - which is why I'm saying a big sell on fee for Dibling wouldn't be good.

Stay on topic please!

*runs and hides

Laughing. It is on topic though, the debate is around Dibling's sell on fee/implications and avoiding making the mistakes we've had in the past.

I think you're being a bit harsh. We haven't just brought useless players from Europe, we've got them from PL teams as well. Godfrey, Schneiderlin, van de Beek, Delph, Keane etc.

Branthwaite could have done the same last summer to force a move to Man United.

I have more respect for players who just crack on and get there head down.
