2025/26 2025/26 Season: How's It Going?

We are three points from top and have a game in hand, and Beto is not far behind in the golden boot race so what’s not to like so far?
We finished 13th last season, so despite all the hype about having new owners, new stadium and lots of new players expected to come in, no progress from last season. SACK THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!

From The Athletic's article this morning, The Premier League panic rankings – from smug Manchester City to woeful West Ham:

1. Everton

Between them, The Athletic’s Everton correspondent Patrick Boyland and their own manager David Moyes used phrases and words like “glaring issues”, “crying out for additions” and “desperate” after the 1-0 defeat at Leeds, during which they had one shot on target. Everton have started the season with two makeshift full-backs and, in Beto, a striker Moyes recently said he was “disappointed” with. They badly need a right-winger and a midfielder, too. Still, good news about the new stadium.

Really annoyed with myself for getting sucked in and buying premium tickets for the Villa game.

Wish I could cut this mess of a club out of my life completely but it’s too deep rooted and I care more than I wish I did.

If we win all our remaining games, we win the league (unless Leeds also win their other remaining games and finish above us on goal difference, but I don't see them doing that)

Could be worse

As expected given our preseason. What's worse is I still don't think we'll be celebrating a win on Sunday either.

I'm a bit more hopeful for the Mansfield game, so not all gloomy.

So far (I will include pre-season) just atrocious, still not done anything about the issues with right back and right winger. Our owners are well known for changing manager if things are not going well, I wonder how long Moyes will be given if we do our usual crap start to the season.

Lmao are we really doomposting after one game where we had four injured defenders and haven’t finished signing players yet 🤣

After one game Burnley and Brentford were nailed on relegated and Sunderland were great and made brilliant signings…

How we feeling after today on those teams?
