I've no idea why we got Alcaraz - did he do enough last season to get a permanent move? Not at all. Maybe he's on low-ish wages and was considered "good business" due to how much money we don't have.
We are struggling for bodies now, and that's with 7 signings made. We were in a bad place at the end of May, CA proven enough to DM that he was worth a shot. We're not in a position yet to be turning away capable players.

Half the normal defence out. Garner playing out of position.
A newly promoted team playing their first game of the season at home. What do you expect? They are going to be going full-tilt 100% in the first half. We kept them at bay. A gash penalty against us in the 87th minute gifted them the win. I never felt they looked like scoring. We put in a far better performance than Wet Spam at Sunderland, who got absolutely mullered. Keep things in perspective.

And to all the critics of Beto (not you) - what do you expect when the team is under the cosh? He needs the midfield to gain and hold possession, and to get the CORRECT supply. He did not get that last night. He will get that over a season, and score several...
I actually thought we were getting on top and were gonna nick it before their pen.

Barring an extremely dubious penalty Leeds were never capable of scoring last night .
That result just shows how bad WE were.

Just a look at the team sheet should have been enough to see we weren't capable of scoring either.
No Full backs , No Right winger , KDH pushed into a makeshift 10.
Our 2 big signings sitting on the bench , accompanied by 2 ( yes 2 ) Goalkeepers.
Oh , and a player that struggled at Forest Green and now out of contract making up the numbers.

No matter which way you want to dress it up this is worse than when we ended the season.
Unprecedented ? .....Yes it truly is.

Seen an Everton fan on Twitter asking if DCL would have won us that game.

The same player that was garbage for 90% of his time with us.

Our fan base at times absolutely baffle me.
Inevitable shout mate. We wanted him to stay and offered him a deal, he wanted different things so obviously Moyes rated him.

I’d argue KDH over Armstrong but formation wise 100% agree.
Games last night would ruin Armstrong very quickly. They picked up on Garner and O’Briens fear in the first five mins. You could see them like rabbits in headlights and giving it to Pickford every chance they had instead of being more confident. They had KDH playing like Doucore high up the pitch but too scared to actually play it oit of defense.

Didn’t see the game but where we that bad?
Everton, wretched from first to last, and manager David Moyes left Elland Road nursing a sense of injustice, believing there was no way James Tarkowski could get his arm out of the way of Anton Stach's shot.

I lost count of the number but it appeared to be several where we moved the ball laboriously forward until we were midway between their penalty box and the half way line on the left. Every time we had 2 passes and then turned and went backwards, sometimes all the way to Pickford. Were we instructed not to cross the ball or look for a through ball as Beto is gash? some things beggar belief!
Also we have both Heath and Clarke available but not on the bench as potential wingers. We keep playing square pegs there instead of letting the yoof have a go.
