2025/26 Michael Keane

Can't stand Keane but he was fine last night, not his fault. As for can't find pass into midfield that's because there wasn't 1 , the movement was poor last night , that incident your talking about came from us having a chance to cross and a few passes later back at Pickford. It was a crap performance especially going forward.
Absolutely mate, don't blame him for not finding the pass. Rather he kept it than booted it long

But regardless you cannot absolutely cannot then proceed to give up on the phase of the play and have a moan while your keeper and other centre half are under pressure. That's schoolboy stuff

The movement in front of the back four was awful. I partly blame Gana and Tim for that, but also don't think Moyes set us up properly.

Set the tone with that ridiculous over hit pass out of play for no reason from the kick off, and then followed it up by slicing a left footed routine clearance nearly out the stadium. Just no need for those errors and jitters start to spread

Yeah, but to be fair after that - he made more successful passes than any other Everton player. 51 out of 57.

Not much competition, mind. Pickford had the most progressive passes.

Shocking performance

Every time he gets the ball I’m holding my breath, no other defender worries me the way he does. He might complete passes but as an example last night he chipped one for absolutely no reason to one of the midfielders who then lost it with his second touch because he couldn’t bring the ball down. That’s a completed pass for Keane but puts us right back under pressure. He does loads of these types of balls, passes into midfield that are never on and almost immediately lead to us losing the ball. In fairness Tarkowski was at it a lot last night as well, ignoring simple passes and then sizin up and going after ridiculous ones with minimal chance of success.

All just borne from hesitation and lack of confidence which Keane just spreads right across any defence he plays in.

Definitely a sign how happy Leeds were for him and Tarkowski to have the ball. Both are far too limited in possession for a top 10 side. Then of course the two centre mids in front of them were equally as bad on the ball. Obvious why we had no control of the game.

Lads it's not his distribution or ability to head the ball or clear it that are the issues. Tell him to stand on the edge of his own box and wack it clear, or recycle it to the keeper, and he's fine. He can do the stuff it's easy to do.

It's his positioning, reading of the game, decision making and general attitude. Still surprised given the volume of errors he made last night that people are saying he had an ok game? A centre back shouldn't be making those many mistakes in a single game!

The second he’s under the slightest bit of pressure he mishits a short pass back to the keeper that leaves no option but Pickford to boot it long. He did this a number of times last night when simple 5 yard passes into a midfielder were available. He completely undermines any momentum being gained.

He made less mistakes than Tarkowski
